Yo Y Me returns to sprint in effort to win sixth in row

Yo Y Me will attempt to win his sixth consecutive race Sunday when he makes his Arapahoe Park debut in the $30,000 Inaugural. The race is the first stakes of the Colorado meet that was to open Friday.
The Inaugural is a six-furlong race for 3-year-olds. A field of nine is set to start, among them Underwood, a stakes winner who recently has been chasing Preakness starter Conquest Mo Money, and Way Out West, a multiple stakes winner last season at Arapahoe.
Inaugural (Race 8)
KEY CONTENDERS
Yo Y Me, by Dixie Chatter
Last 3 Beyers: 69-66-73
◗ Yo Y Me has won five of nine races, with his win streak built at Turf Paradise. It began with a maiden win last October. Yo Y Me then reeled off four stakes wins: the ATBA Fall Sales Stakes in November, the Arizona Breeders’ Futurity and the Lost in the Fog Juvenile in December, and the Gene Fleming Breeders’ Derby in his most recent start April 22.
◗ Yo Y Me will be cutting back to one turn for the Inaugural. He is a two-time stakes winner at the race’s distance, and to sharpen for the turnback, he worked a bullet half-mile in 46.20 seconds May 3 at Turf Paradise.
◗ Jake Barton has the mount from post 2 for trainer Kevin Eikleberry. Yo Y Me, who is nominated to the Triple Crown, races for Eikleberry, William Matthews, and Lloyd Yother.
Underwood, by Old Fashioned
Last 3 Beyers: 51-52-62
◗ He is cutting back to one turn and shaking Conquest Mo Money. Underwood ran third to Conquest Mo Money in the $100,000 Riley Allison in January at Sunland, then was fifth to that rival in the track’s $100,000 Mine That Bird Derby in February.
◗ Underwood is unbeaten at one turn, with three wins at the configuration, including the $50,000 Governor’s Cup in October at Zia Park.
◗ David Lopez has the mount from post 8 for Harry Veruchi and trainer Justin Evans.
Way Out West, by Fusaichi Pegasus
Last 3 Beyers: 18-43-33
◗ He won the CTBA Futurity and Silver Cup Futurity last season at Arapahoe.
◗ Way Out West will be making his first start since August, when he finished fifth in the $100,000 Gold Rush Futurity.
◗ David Cardoso has the mount for trainer Tyrone Gleason.
