Yes This Time the hot horse in English Channel Stakes

Yes This Time will try to make it four in a row when he runs in the $75,000 English Channel at Gulfstream Park on Saturday. The mile and a sixteenth race for 3-year-olds drew 10 horses for turf. Hercules and Caxambas Camby will start if the race is moved to the main track.
The English Channel goes as race 11 on a 12-race card that begins at 12:20 p.m. Eastern. With a total of 125 horses entered, there are plenty of wagering opportunities.
Yes This Time is clearly the one to beat in the English Channel. He has won four of his five starts on turf, and his only loss on grass came when he got off to a poor beginning in his first start at Gulfstream.

The Kentucky-bred son of Not This Time debuted in a maiden special weight race going 5 1/2 furlongs on dirt for trainer Michael Stidham at Delaware on July 13. He broke okay from the rail, chased an honest pace, got bumped in midstretch, and finished fourth.
The 34 Beyer Speed Figure came in light, but you could see he had some potential. It has been all turf since then, and in each of his races he has improved his Beyer Speed Figure. In his second race he received a 73 Beyer for his win in a $30,000 maiden claimer at the Fair Grounds on Dec. 5.
His next four races were at Gulfstream for trainer Kelly Breen, and the 84 Beyer he received for his win going a mile in a first-level allowance race with a $75,000 claiming option on April 11 is the best in the English Channel field. If the rising trend continues, he will be a handful.
Yes This Time is versatile, too. In two of his wins at Gulfstream he took them all the way with Paco Lopez riding. Edwin Gonzalez was aboard when he came from a stalking position to win going away in his latest. Gonzalez rides on Saturday, and he will have options depending on how Yes This Time breaks from post 8.
The Carlos David-trained Fulmini is coming off a runner-up finish going a mile on turf in the $100,000 Cutler Bay at Gulfstream on March 27. With Lopez riding, the Florida-bred son of Overdriven saved ground while sitting just off the pace, moved into serious contention at the top of the stretch, and after a thrilling duel came up a neck short to even-money favorite Annex.
Fulmini was making his second start for David, who claimed him out of a $50,000 starter with a $50,000 claiming option on Jan. 21. He rallied to win at the same level going five furlongs on turf Feb. 24.
Fulmini will break from the outside post with SamyCamacho aboard for the first time.
Lopez rides Kartano for trainer Efren Loza Jr. The lightly raced son of Tamarkuz won his debut in a $25,000 maiden claimer Feb. 5, finished second to Yes This Time on March 20, and lost by a neck while finishing third in a $35,000 starter with a $35,000 claiming option on April 8. All three races were contested at Gulfstream over a mile on firm turf.
Edgard Zayas rides Hyperfocus for trainer Todd Pletcher. Hyperfocus had a rough trip when he finished fifth in the Cutler Bay, losing by a length and a quarter. He could make it interesting if things fall his way on Saturday.
