World of Trouble to enter stud at Hill 'n' Dale in 2021

Justin N. Lane World of Trouble was never headed en route to a 1 3/4-length victory in Saturday's Grade 1 Jaipur at Belmont Park.

World of Trouble, a Grade 1 winner on both dirt and turf, will enter stud in 2021 at Hill ‘n’ Dale Farm in Kentucky alongside his sire, Kantharos.

The farm announced the deal Wednesday for the 4-year-old colt, who is campaigned by Michael Dubb, Madaket Stables, and Bethlehem Stables. The partnership will continue to race the horse through 2020. BSW Bloodstock represented both the partnership and Hill 'n' Dale on the stallion deal.

"My partners and I are excited World of Trouble will stand stud at such a world-class facility as Hill 'n' Dale," Dubb said in a press release. "He is the fastest horse I have ever owned, by far, and we will look forward to continuing to run him in the best sprint races America has to offer. We are equally excited to support him at stud and will start to assemble mares for the 2021 breeding season."

World of Trouble, trained by Jason Servis, has won seven of his last eight starts, all in stakes. The only loss in that span was a neck defeat to Stormy Liberal in the Breeders' Cup Turf Sprint at Churchill Downs. Stormy Liberal, who was subsequently voted the Eclipse Award champion turf male, earned an eye-popping Beyer Speed Figure of 119, while World of Trouble was awarded a 118, also among the highest figures of the year.

World of Trouble has won all four of his starts this year. After winning an off-the-turf edition of the Gulfstream Park Turf Sprint, he remained on the main track to win the Grade 1 Carter Handicap. He then moved back to turf, winning the Grade 2 Twin Spires Turf Sprint on the Kentucky Oaks undercard. He became a Grade 1 winner on grass by taking the Jaipur Invitational over Om and Disco Partner on the Belmont Stakes undercard. The colt's career record stands at 13-9-2-1 with earnings of $1,263,300.

"To watch World of Trouble run is to see effortless, brilliant speed on both dirt and turf at the highest levels of racing," Hill 'n' Dale president John Sikura said. "He is so unique as a Grade 1 winner on both surfaces and is by Kantharos, who is a rising star in the sire ranks. He has Seattle Slew, Blushing Groom, and In Reality in his pedigree, so his entire pedigree page is replete with quality speed. World of Trouble is completely correct and medium in size, so he is compatible with every type of mare. Brilliant, consistent, and versatile are great requisites for a new sire."
