Wooden Ya Know It adds to streak in Free Press

Wooden Ya Know It continued his winning ways, taking his third straight race this spring and becoming a stakes winner in the $30,000 Free Press at Assiniboia Downs on Saturday night.

Trained by Jerry Gourneau and ridden by Janine Stianson, Wooden Ya Know It pressed the pace and came on strongly to score by 3 1/2 lengths in the six-furlong stakes that attracted eight older horses.

Wooden Ya Know It returned $19.40 and was followed to the wire by the 9-1 Grow Up and 13-1 Mr Exspeedient.

Monsoon Rain, a Manitoba horse of the year in 2008, finished fifth, and the 9-5 favorite Coronas at Delmar weakened to end sixth after setting the early pace.
