Woodbine: Sisterly Love romps in Trillium

ETOBICOKE, Ontario – Sisterly Love easily notched her first stakes win in front-running style Saturday at Woodbine in the $133,000 Trillium.
Sisterly Love ($7) set moderate fractions of 24.88 seconds and 49.07 in the 1 1/16-mile route for fillies and mares. After three-quarters in 1:12.90, she kicked away in the stretch to score by 8 1/2 lengths, in a quick 1:43 under Eurico Da Silva.
Reconnect rallied to finish second over another longshot, Sarah Her Highness. Favored Inglorious faded badly in the lane to trail the seven-horse field.
“She was very comfortable,” Da Silva said. “She gave me a good feeling during the warm-up. She’s a big filly, and leaving the gate, she didn’t break that fast. I asked her a little bit, and she was on the bit all the way. She did a great job.”
Sisterly Love banked $75,000 for owner Gary Barber and trainer Mark Casse.
Bold Ruckus: Langstaff up at wire for win
The unbeaten Langstaff ($10.10) rallied fast from last and nailed favorites Click and Skyrish on the wire to take Saturday’s other stakes, the $125,800 Bold Ruckus.
Luis Contreras rode the Bob Tiller-trained Langstaff, who covered six furlongs over firm turf in 1:09.20 in the sprint for Ontario-sired 3-year-olds.
“He’s a very nice horse,” Contreras said. “He’s got a tremendous kick at the end.”
