A $34,000 mare in foal to Bold Executive topped the Canadian Thoroughbred Horse Society’s winter mixed sale at Woodbine on Saturday. Zayat Stable bought the mare, an unraced 5-year-old named Joanne Jubilation, from Hill ‘n’ Dale Sales Agency, as agent. Two weanlings brought $20,000 each, a colt by Holy Bull and a filly by Hook and Ladder. The top-priced yearling was a $20,000 colt by Perigee Moon. The sale’s gross receipts of $332,900 for 101 horses sold was down 41 percent from last year, when 115 horses were sold. The average price of $3,296 was down 33 percent from the 2007 mixed sale.
