Trainer Roger Attfield also is looking forward to next Sunday with Forte Dei Marmi and Perfect Timber on target for the $1 million Canadian International and Moment of Majesty set for the $500,000 E.P. Taylor Stakes. Both the 1 1/2-mile Canadian International, for 3-year-olds and up, and the 1 1/4-mile E.P. Taylor, for fillies and mares, are Grade 1 turf races. The fillies Irish Mission and Nancy O are the only other locals slated to compete in the Grade 1 features, with Irish Mission nominated to both races but with a current lean to the Canadian International. Joshua Tree, winner of the 2010 and 2012 Canadian Internationals and second in the 2011 renewal, is slated to return for new trainer Ed Dunlop. Now We Can, a Group 2 winner based in France, and Seismos, a Group 1 winner from Germany, are other overseas Canadian International candidates. Hyper, Lucayan, Slumber, Stormy Len, Temeraine, and Twilight Eclipse are Canadian International candidates from south of the border. Moment in Time, a Group 3 winner from England; Fitful Skies, based in France but a Group 3 winner in Germany last out; and Samba Brazil, a German Group 3 winner; are the European candidates for the E.P. Taylor. Potential American invaders for the E.P. Taylor include Colonial Flag, Minakshi, Quishchi, Strathnaver, Topic, and Tannery, who also is nominated to the Canadian International. Minakshi and Colonial Flag, both trained by Michael Matz, ran 1-2 here in the Grade 2 Canadian Stakes at 1 1/8 miles on the turf.
