Woodbine Mohawk Park: Twin B Archie doesn't disappoint in OSS Gold Series

Twin B Archie, sent off as the 6-5 favorite, turned a second-over trip into a 1:55 victory in the C$159,000 Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series contest for 3-year-old colt and gelding trotters that occurred on Monday night at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Simcoe Seelster (Doug McNair) led the way through fractions of 27 1/5, 57 1/5, and 1:26 3/5, with Safe Conduct (Chris Christoforou) going first-up from fourth past the half, tracked by Twin B Archie. Simcoe Seelster maintained command into the lane, but Safe Conduct had been able to sustain his bid on the outside, and Simcoe Seelster would be overtaken by Safe Conduct in mid-stretch. However, Twin B Archie was coming to Safe Conduct's outside, and it would be Twin B Archie getting up to tally by three-quarters of a length. Safe Conduct held second over Unevergonnagethis (Jody Jamieson).
"He's been super. He's been next to unbeatable most of the year," said winning driver James MacDonald. "Tonight, it was just wanting a nice trip. I didn't care. He can do it any way: front, two-hole, first-up, second-over, from the back, like he's just a really nice horse. Scott [trainer Scott McEneny] does a great job, made a little shoeing change, and the horse, he responded. He raced well tonight."
