Race 1 – Two Year Olds - **$50K GTD Pick 5**
(4) DURHAMVILLE – a $110K Lexington purchase – is out of a full-sister to $1.6 million-earning Hambletonian winner Royalty For Life. He looks ready to take these at first asking. (6) TYMAL TAROT raced great from the worst post last time and he should be the main danger. (1) TOCCOA FALLS cost $50K at Harrisburg and he can take a share here on debut. (3) NANCY ALLISON should compete for a slice here if she stays flat.
Race 2 – CLM HDCP $18,000 to $25,000
(5) ROCKIN WIZARD seems to have found a home in claiming races and he looks best here in a bid to string two wins together which he hasn’t been known for in the past. (2) LEADER TONIGHT is in solid form now and he steps up here but still looks like the main danger to the choice. (6) BROOKLETSJUSTIFIED was sent on a speed mission by Gingras last time and he was passed only by the choice late. He should be in the exotics mix here. (4) RACEMUP is always a good one to use underneath it seems.
Race 3 – NW 5 (F&M 7) or $85,000 (F&M $102,000) LT
(6) TAX SAVINGS took a first and a second racing at this level here in June and J Mac should be sending in this spot; top call. (1) TRIX AND STONES got a clean line following a break and trotted a strong final 1/4. I’ll use him in this Pick 5. (2) HIGHLAND DYNAMITE was beaten by a very sharp colt last time and he must be kept in the mix in this spot. (3) CINDY LYNN can leave, sit, then hang around for a slice.
Race 4 – Ontario Sired 3YO Grassroots Starters in 2019 – **GTD $50K Pick 4**
(3) A ROYAL LINE closed well last time vs. a strong winner and if he gets put into this race early, he should be tough to beat. (2) ROYALE ELITE was first up in the same mike. If he trips better here, he can win this. (1) WINDSONG PIONEER has come to life racing at Grand River. These are tougher, but he’s worth a look. (4) GOLD EDITION should be part of the early pace and he could get brave if left unchallenged for a while.
Race 5 – Ontario Sired 2YO Fillies NW $17,600 LT
(9) LANDRY SEELSTER only makes the earnings condition by $63 here. If she races back to her penultimate start, she will be tough to beat. (8) P L NELLY dropped more than five seconds in her second qualifier and sire Big Jim has some very fast fillies currently racing at this Mohawk Park meet. She merits a look here for multi-race bets. (4) SATDNITE JUKEBOX was over her head last time. She fits much better here and she should be heard from. (2) KEEP WATCHING should get a good following trip here; consider for the exotics.
Race 6 – Whenuwishuponastar Final – 2YO Fillies
(3) SOMEBEACHSOMETIME produced one of the more impressive stretch kicks of the meet last week and while the waters get deeper here, she may be up to it. (1) REFLECT WITH ME has done little wrong so far and she’s the filly to beat here. (4) ALEXA SKYE has also been impressive to date and she could be the filly to catch in this stakes final. (5) KAT is a good one to use underneath in the exotics here.
Race 7 – F&M 4YO and Younger NW2 or $22,000 LT – Pick 4
(5) PAZZA HANOVER paced a huge trip from the 10-hole last week. She should be tough to beat moving to the middle of the gate here. (4) BE BEST was game in defeat, but she is developing a bit of seconditis it seems. (3) ROYALTY AGAIN merits a look adding Lasix and getting a better post here. (1) AMBERS SHADOW also adds Lasix and she can sneak onto the Tri or Super here off a following trip.
Race 8 – $8,000/$12,000 Claiming
(7) CHEAPSKATE HANOVER transferred his good Georgian Downs form to Mohawk park last time and he gets the nod here based on current sharpness. (6) TOMY TERROR finished right with the choice. This race could come down to these two battling to the wire for the win. (5) CAMS TUX didn’t show much in his first start out of the Auciello barn, but it wouldn’t be a shock if he woke up here. (1) ONLY ONE STAR has won on this track before and he could add some value to the exotics.
Race 9 – 5YO and Younger NW 1 or $7K LT
(3) P L MUNSON finishes fast every race and he gets Roy here who may get more aggressive early. Trainer Hughes has also done well with the Prince Lee Acres stock so far; top call. (6) READY TO RUMBLE N’s qualifier vs. top aged pacer Jimmy Freight was quite good and he is worth a long look here making his North American debut. (1) MACHO POLO gets driver Plante here who can be quite aggressive. He may make it onto the Exacta ticket. (7) CASEYS DRAGON looked good to the 1/2 last week then broke. He could be right there if he behaves.
Race 10 – NW $3,000 L5 or $7,000 L10
(7) HEINEKEN SEELSTER made a couple of moves last time in a decent try. I’ll give him the nod in a wide-open finale. (5) TOUCHDOWN AS is capable of popping for Puddy off the layoff; using. (4) WHAT A RUSH is the only last-out winner in this field and he picks up J Mac, who won several races here on Saturday. (8) SONOFAMILLIONAIRE has improving form and he could upset here with the right trip. (2) LIAM NEEDSOME should be passing horses late to take a slice.
