Race 1 – CLM HDCP $10K to $15K – GTD $50K Pick 5
(5) A J DESTINY took a new season’s mark last time racing off the Shepherd claim and this looks no tougher; call to repeat. (6) ESQUIRE had no shot last week when in over his head. Getting back in a claimer puts him back in the picture. (3) VERO BI AMORE raced okay when second to thee choice and he is always dangerous at this level when he stays trotting. (4) EXPLOSIVE JET is one that I simply can’t use on top any more especially the way she gets overbet; small share predicted.
Race 2 – 4YO and Younger NW 1 or $7K
(9) ISNT HE AN ANGEL race two starts back is by far the best performance on the page and if he races back to that effort, the others should be vying for second. (7) JOHNNYS REVENGE was second to one that came back to repeat at Georgian Sunday night and he should contend here. (2) PEACE ROSE could take a slice at a price here is she behaves. (8) TANDEM’s race two back puts him in the picture for a small share but he needs to stay trotting obviously.
Race 3 – CLM HDCP $8K to $12K
(3) GALAGHER SEELSTER was good racing off the Montini claim but the winner was just too good. This gelding looks best here. (1) WOO SHARK comes off a solid try at Grand River Friday night and he may trip out here returning to action quickly; using. (5) BRICKMAN finished behind the choice last time, but he appears to be a contender for at least an on-the-board finish here. (4) ILL BE BACK may sneak onto the Tri or Super here.
Race 4 – NW $3K L5 or $9,300 L9 – GTD $50K Pick 4
(3) SCOUTS REPORT hinted at a return to form last time and I’ll take a swing with him here at what is hopefully a square price. (2) OFFICER JONES drops to the bottom and a much more aggressive steer wouldn’t surprise me here; using. (4) MT STERLING MAFIA was a sharp winner the last time he raced this low. He is another Pick 4 and Pick 5 option. (6) COOL ROCK came to life last week and he’s another who can take this contentious race with the right trip.
Race 5 – 4YO and Younger NW 2 (F&M3) or $21K LT
(1) KNOPFLER raced well off the shelf and he is solid every week but can’t seem to notch that second win. He may trip out here and gets a slight nod over (3) ACE BI who looked good winning in this class last week. (10) CORNERSTONE stole a second 1/4 breather last time and the result was never in doubt from that point on. He’s not out of this but post is an obvious potential issue. (7) SHAMROCK SHAKER is a good one to use underneath in Tri and Super bets.
Race 6 – 4YO and Younger NW2 and $25K LT
(1) GRAND POOBAH has raced against several tough ones in his past few races and this is a good spot for him to wake up; surprise package. (3) JOE MCDUDE has a similar profile and he should fare much better vs. these. (2) CRUISE CAPTAIN was much better last time and if he gets sent again, he may take these all the way. (5) RAYS KREDIT got hammered at the windows last time for some reason and he couldn’t deliver. I’ll use him on the bottom here.
Race 7 – Ontario Sired 3YO Grassroots Starters in 2019 – Late Pick 4
(6) ROYALE ELITE looked like he would surely win last time then he was taken out in a three-horse tangle initiated by a rival who broke. He can rebound here. (7) ESA put it all together here two starts back and may have just disliked Clinton as some young trotters have issue on those turns. I’ll use him here. (2) RAISING ROYALTY just wins and he’s hard to leave out but he may find the top two choices much tougher. (4) ENCARNACION is consistent and he can better this placing with a reasonable trip
Race 8 – 4YO and Younger NW1 or $10,500 LT
(8) WHAT UP MO made a great recovery last time when he took a ton of betting support. He should be tough in here if he behaves. (7) QUICKSTAR BLUECHIP won his debut here last summer and he looks ready to fire a good mile here in his sophomore debut; using. (4) MOONSTONE has licence to show more here after an even race while coming off a break; using. (1) BERNIE can sit a nice trip and stick around for a share.
Race 9 – 2YO Fillies
With not much to go on here, (3) SOUTHWIND MYRTLE has had a race and that experience can count racing all rivals making debuts. (5) GOT POWER sports the best qualifier. She’s the second one I’ll use in the late Pick 4. (4) ROSE RUN VICTORY and (2) OPULENT are two that I will use underneath.
Race 10 – NW $3,100 L5 or $8,900 L10
(4) MISTER MAGIC clearly faced much better in his past two starts now he makes his third start off a vet scratch and draws better while facing easier; all systems go. (7) SMOKE MONKEY drops and keeps McClure. He has upset potential here. (9) WHISKEY TAX drops but I’m not sold on him taking his second win in two seasons; using underneath. (8) BRED FOR GREATNESS will get bet off his most recent effort but I prefer using him underneath here. (2) ALPHA SEELSTER raced well last time and he could get a good following trip here, but he may get over bet in the win pool.
