Race 1 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES - GRASSROOTS - 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES - **$50K GTD Pick 5**
(2) YEN has been excellent in this division all year and she has been dominant recently. She gets top call here. (6) HIGHLAND FOXYTRTTER won last time she raced at this level and she should move up with the class relief here. (8) CANADIAN TITAN has yet to miss the board and her good tactical speed puts her in the picture with these. (4) ZEBS FLUR has been competitive in several of these Grassroots races and recently broke her maiden racing in one; using underneath.
Race 2 – CLM HDCP $12,000 to $15,000
(3) VERO AMORE BI will likely be a big chalk here racing off the Auciello claim, but he looks clearly best and he will take beating. (2) EMMALULU may be able to sit a good trip here and come on late to complete the Exacta. (6) ESQUIRE tends to find bad trips and getting the outer post here likely won’t help change that. I’ll play to beat him out of the Exacta. (1) MOST WANTED LINDY should be good to beat a couple of these at least and finish in the Super.
Race 3 – CLM HDCP $8,000 to $12,000
(2) LISVINNIE drops to the bottom and he gets his favorite driver back here. I expect him to wake up. (8) SHOE SHINE interests me racing off the Waxman claim and driver Plante is sure to be sending him. He may be the one to catch. (5) C L SPORTACTION drops back down to the claimed level where he fits better. I’ll toss him in the Pick 5. Veteran (4) OUTLAW GUNPOWDER can compete for a smaller share here.
Race 4 – 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 1 OR $7,000 LT– **GTD $50K Pick 4**
(6) COTE DAZUR was well-bet last week but he was in an impossible spot on too much cover in a race with no pace. I’ll go back to him here. (2) THE AMAZINGSANDO will take big action here dropping to face much easier and he is hard to leave off multi-race tickets. (5) PRESS TIME made two moves from the 10-hole now moves to the middle of the gate. He is obviously worth a look here. (4) BEAUMOND HANOVER showed some talent in his most recent qualifier but this is no easy spot. I’ll use him on the bottom of Tris and Supers.
Race 5 – 4 YEAR OLDS & YOUNGER, NW 2 (FM 3) or $20,000 (FM $25,000) LT
(8) ROYAL RHYTHM sticks out here, the only question is what kind of tactics she will deploy in a spot where she is clearly in between stakes engagements. (10) BLUE MAGIC is in a similar position as the choice but if she gets put into the race, she should provide a challenge. (4) KNOPFLER also lands in an easier spot here but he has had several chances in these types of classes earlier this year; your call. (7) ARVIKA can sit a trip and come on late for a share.
Race 6 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES - GRASSROOTS - 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES
(3) GODDESS DE VIE was no match for Gold rivals last time but her race two starts back puts her right there with these; top call. (6) SCORCHED ROMANCE has improving form and she just won one of these Grassroots races; using. (7) CHELSEAS MAGIC should work her way into contention and come on for a share. (1) BR SERENA SLAM is worth a look off her latest qualifier.
Race 7 – CLM HDCP $15,000 TO $18,000 FOR NW $84,500 LT
(7) TOPVILLE CHROME is back into a claimer here and he beat better two starts back. A very aggressive try should be coming. (6) MACHO POLO looked like a winner last week and was nailed very late by a determined chalk. He should be dangerous here. (8) YOUNG DRUNK PUNK improved in that same race and he could be one that can add some value to the Pick 4 starting from out there. (3) STELIOS is worth a look for the exotics making his second start out of the Shepherd barn.
Race 8 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES - GRASSROOTS - 2 YEAR OLD FILLIES
(2) TH PRESENT has won two of these races but hasn’t been great at this track so far. In a race where it’s hard to love any of them, she gets a slight nod. (4) PEPPAS ANGEL has improving form and she should break her maiden soon; maybe tonight? (3) MOANA has caught fire recently and won with the trainer driving last time. She is another who can take this with the right trip. (10) ZAKARINA is another with improving form who could crack the exotics at a price.
Race 9 – NW $3,000 L5 or NW $7,000 L10
If you are ever going to use an “all” in a Pick 4 race, this would be the spot. But being that our job is to separate them, I’ll side with (4) OCEANVIEW DEB who has improving form and fits well here. (1) MISTER MAGIC raced well last week and finished just behind the choice. Both his trip and chances should improve here. (3) CAULFIELD had a long journey last time and he could be much closer here with a better trip. (9) SETANTA got an aggressive drive from Henry last time and he returns here. He isn’t impossible in this spot despite his post.
Race 10 – FILLIES and MARES 4YO and Younger NW2 or $25,000 LT
(1) ALLY ELIZABETH’s last race is a throw out. She didn’t start well, and it was all downhill from there. Her price should go up here and I’ll stick with her. (10) POSTMODERNISM has performed well for team McClure and she should be right there again despite starting from the worst post. (5) SOMEBEACHBYTHESEA was game despite getting a long trip last time and she is another in with a decent shot. (7) FRISKY BEAVER and (8) WANNA SHAKEYOURTREE are two more that could win this contentious dash, but from these posts I prefer to use them underneath.
