Race 1 – 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT - GTD $50K Pick 5
(5) WHILE YOUR UP qualified well behind last year's Breeders Crown winner and this year's Hambo winner. If his gait issues are fixed, he could pop here. (6) SOUTHWIND SYLVESTR is an obvious threat off last week's good try, but his price drops now. (3) MEEAS DREAM has been excellent so far racing on B tracks, but he'll need more late speed here. (9) NO WINE FOR YOU finished strongly last time and he's not impossible here, but he'll need to work out a trip starting from out there.
Race 2 – OSS Gold 2YO Colts and Geldings
This looks like a battle between the Determination-owned duo and of those two I like (7) CROSSFIT MOUSE slightly better than (3) THREEFIFTYTWO, although it should be noted that first-call driver McClure did choose the latter. (6) MOON BRIDGE had a solid debut in New Jersey and he picks up leading driver Filion here. I'll use him underneath. (5) SCAMP looks like a good one to use on the bottom of Tris and Supers.
Race 3 - F&M 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT
(5) TRIP ACES HANOVER exits some tough spots and she picks up Henry here, which could mean an aggressive try is coming; slight nod. (1) AFFLUENT SEELSTER should get a better trip here starting inside and she's the main danger. (6) SUNSHINEATTHEBEACH is 0 for 21, so I can't endorse a win bet in this spot, but a board finish is likely. (4) SOUTHWIND PRIMA almost won for Hudon six starts back and he returns here; price look.
Race 4 – 2YO NW $11,000 LT - GTD $50K Pick 4
(10) NELLO PARK raced tough from an outer post and now he picks up driver Roy here; speed blast coming. (8) PRESS TIME's race two back would put him right there with these, but two breaks in four starts are concerning. (4) MANLICIOUS requalified well with trainer Moore driving. His debut race was good; using. (3) UNIQUE BEACH is yet another that has had gait issues who could pop if he stays flat. This race could be a war of attrition.
Race 5 - 4YO and Younger NW 2 (F&M 3) or $20,000 LT
(4) ANGIES LUCKEYLADY should be tough vs. this company as she seeks her elusive second win; slight nod. (5) SOUTHWIND FROST has been beaten by some good horses recently. This may finally be his spot; using. (2) MACALLAN was a solid winner in this class last time and he merits Pick 4 and Pick 5 consideration. (1) FRESHETTE HANOVER should be good for another small share.
Race 6 - OSS Gold 2YO Colts and Geldings
(6) PORT PERRY provided perfect cover for eventual winner (3) BLUE CUPERTINO last time and the latter just got up. I'll give the nod to the former here expecting a better trip on the big track, but use both in the Pick 4. (7) HORSE TRADER capitalized on a slowing pace last time and sped off to an easy win. He's hard to toss off that effort. (2) RIPPED AND READY is a good one to use on the bottom of exotic wagers in this spot.
Race 7 - 2YO NW $11,000 LT - Pick 4
(4) REMEMBERING SHORTY had an eventful trip as the chalk in his debut. He gets post relief and leading driver Filion here; my top call. (1) DELIGHTFUL TERROR got the jump on the choice last time and produced a sharp final 1/4 to win. He is a big threat right back. (2) MACK is worth a look underneath with the late speed he has been showing. (5) LINUS can go better here exiting stakes company and getting on the bigger track; using underneath.
Race 8 - CLM HDCP $12,000 to $15,000
(9) A J DESTINY left, took a shuffle and came again to win off the Pereira claim; call to repeat in a similar field. (2) EXPLOSIVE JET has 15 slices in 25 tries (60%) and 1 win (4%). What win price would you take? (8) EMMALULU fits this class well but I don't love post 8 for her; using underneath. (6) VERO AMORE BI is a hard one to figure because he will compete if he stays trotting but he can blow up at any time it seems.
Race 9 - Ontario Sired 2YO
(4) POSEIDON SEELSTER had an impossible trip last time and now he gets McClure back; improvement expected. (7) YS MATHIS is obviously good enough to be right there vs. these, although going for $15K is often a guessing game regarding trip with stakes types. (5) CAPTIVATE HANOVER is an improving sort for Team Steacy, who excel with young horses; using. (8) QUICK TOUR has done nothing wrong so far and he is another in with a shot here.
Race 10 - 4YO and Younger NW 2 of $25,000
(10) WHAT UP MO is on a roll that not even post 10 is likely to stop; top call. (5) VELOCITY POPROCKS was visually impressive blowing by the field late last time. If he stays flat again, he will be the main threat. (2) BETTER UP should go better in this spot. He's in my Tris. (4) PREMIER ROCKSTAR has been excellent racing out of town and he's not out of this, although these are tougher. (1) PERKINS figures to take another small share here.
