Race 1 – 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,600 LT – **GTD $50K Pick 5**
(7) ANGEL MAGIC raced well last time after missing close to three weeks and she looks best here. (4) TACTICAL TRIX gets McNair for a return drive and he faces what should be much easier here. I’ll use him in this Pick 5. (9) WINGS OF SPEED raced evenly in a quick Grassroots race while hoppled for the first time. He could pop here if he gets sent forward leaving the gate. (5) MAGICS WIZARD is a good one to use on the bottom of Tris and Supers.
Race 2 – 2YO Fillies NW2 or $20,000 LT
(7) COQUI COQUI’S race two starts back in a similar class puts her right there with these and she should offer a good price. (8) MISS L A failed to seal the deal as a 2 to 5 favorite last week, but they all get beat and she remains a viable option. I just wouldn’t take odds-on again here. (3) MACH MY KISS produced a sharp late kick to go by MISS LA and she is the third one that I’ll use in the Pick 5. (4) BETTORBEASECRET has six slices in seven tries; use underneath.
Race 3 – 4YO and Younger NW2 (F&M3) or $20,000 (F&M $25,000) LT
(8) P L MATT seems to have put his gait issues behind him, and he gets the call to repeat here facing what appears to be easier than he beat last time. (10) GRINDER raced well in a tough dash and if he can get in range by the 3/4, he has a shot here. (4) ROYAL RHYTHM exploded with a big maiden win and she isn’t out of this, but some of these are much tougher than the horses she beat then. (7) NORTHERN ROYALE raced well vs. a strong winner last time and she should be in the mix here.
Race 4 – F&M 4YO and Younger NW2 or $29,500 LT - **GTD $50K Pick 4**
Team McClure seems to have figured (3) POSTMODERNISM out and she gets the call to repeat here. (8) BENS JENNA flies home every week but post might make it tough for her to pass them all here. (4) SASKATOON raced decently off a break last time. She could surprise here if she gets a trip. (2) FRISKY BEAVER makes her second start out of the Auciello barn and she could crack the exotics at a price.
Race 5 – Champlain Two Year Old Fillies
(6) SHE ROCKS KEMP moves from the worst post to the one of the best starting slots and she gets the nod over (7) IM REALLY SPECIAL, who has shown both talent and gait issues to this point. (2) PANEM is another who can win this, or, not stay on stride, but she merits a look for multi-race tickets. (3) PRINCESSPARTYPANTS should be passing rivals late; using underneath.
Race 6 – 2YO NW $6,500 LT
(7) BET THE LIMIT improved with Roy driving. With no standout in here, I’ll lean to him for top billing. (5) DOVER SEELSTER tried to leave then took a shuffle. Moving to the middle of the gate gives him a chance at a price. (6) SUNDOWN KID is the only winner in the race and his last start was decent; using. (8) NO LOU ZING needs a clean line. I look for him to get around and close late and maybe crack the top four.
Race 7 – Champlain 2YO Fillies – Pick 4
(2) WHOSE BLUES has been expertly managed by driver McClure and I don’t think we’ve seen her best race yet. It’s Grand Circuit time now, so a big mile may be coming from this unbeaten filly. (6) WARAWEE VICKY has only one blemish on her record and she may be the one to catch here. (5) SHEER ENERGY can provide a challenge if she stays flat, but I’ll use her underneath only. (4) MODERN MASS can come on late and take a share in this spot.
Race 8 – F&M NW $3,500 L5 or NW $8,500 L9
(1) BLACK JACK PAT – with no checks taken in her past 5 starts – gets to drop to the bottom conditioned level here and check what happened six starts back when she dropped to a level higher than this. She is hard to oppose here. (2) SPRINGBRIDGE SASSY could close for second here, passing some winded rivals who have chased the choice, if she stays flat. (6) OUR VACATION was flat last time when hammered at the windows. Adding Lasix can be telling. I’ll use her in the Tri. (8) JAN is another class dropper here but she is hit-and-miss and I’ll try to beat her out of the Tri here.
Race 9 – Ontario Sired 3YO Grassroots Starters in 2019 NW $15,000 L5
(1) CLOTHIER HANOVER left hard then tried another move when facing tougher than he meets here. He gets the nod in a wide-open race. (2) PRICELESS RULER comes in off a sharp Grassroots effort but his 1 for 19 record is a bit concerning. What price would you take? (8) MAGICAL JOURNEY raced decently from the 10-hole in the same race and he has upset possibilities here. (9) A ROYAL LINE typically races well for Henry. Consider for the exotics.
Race 10 – NW $3,000 L5 or $7,000 L10
(3) LEAFS AND WINGS has shipped in from B tracks and win here at a price on several occasions in the past; angle play. (4) FOOT SOLDIER is in a much better spot here and McClure may look to send him down the road; using. (6) BIT OF LUCK is an obvious contender dropping to the bottom conditioned level. (2) STOLEN ART raced okay vs. a tough winner last week. He is another Pick 4 possibility here. (9) MOONWRITER was solid winning at Georgian on Sunday but post does him no favors here. I’ll use him underneath.
