Race 1 –Two Year Old Fillies – **$50K GTD Pick 5**
(9) CANADIAN TITAN has been solid in every try and she lands in a good spot here. She can overcome the outer post and she gets the nod here. (2) MCKEES ANGEL is an obvious fit here having beaten similar from post 10 last time; using. (5) TRINA requalified well, but her nit being able to stay flat when racing for purses is a concern. (7) LADY MARY LEE is worth a look on debut. Tab the tote for clues on this one.
Race 2 – Two Year Old Fillies Nw2 or $20,000 LT
(5) MISS L A won her debut without really being asked for anything and this is tougher, but I expect her to be up to it. (4) SAULSBROOK RAVEN’s maiden win two back puts her squarely in the picture here; the main danger. (6) PEAKY SNEAKY was a nice two-move winner last time and she is another who should provide a challenge to the choice,
Race 3 – Define The World Final – 2 Year Olds
(7) HORSE TRADER was conservatively-driven last week having already made the final with a win in the first leg. Henry aggression is expected here. (4) THREEFIFTYTWO was rank behind the gat last week and McClure expertly got him under control then wisely let him roll leaving the gate and he sped off to a nice win. He’s an obvious contender but he should be inspected on the track. (1) NYLANDER should be closer early and he is another threat. (6) SEBASTIAN RAY figures for a small share here.
Race 4 – F&M 4YO and Younger NW2 or $26,000 LT - **$50K GTD Pick-4**
(6) WINDSONG PARISIAN continues to come close and she looks best here so she gets the nod. (1) FRISKY BEAVER is worth a look on the barn change alone. (4) LUS ILLUSION has come into her own the past few starts, and she should be right there despite getting beat at 1 to 5 odds last time. (7) BENS JENNA flew late with McCarthy driving last time, but her previous form was sketchy; mixed signals here.
Race 5 – Ontario Sired 2YO Grassroots Starters NW $6,000 LT
(10) NIGHT DELIGHT is a risky top pick starting from out there, but he paced his back 1/2 in 54 1/5 last time and he could go a long way if Filion sends him. (8) SUNDOWN KID has a similar profile and can be right there if he gets a better start. (2) MACK shows hints of ability but has yet to put it all together in a race. He could trip out here. (6) MACPHERSON THUNDER comes back from the B tracks with two wins, but he’d need to drop about six seconds to win this.
Race 6 – Pure Ivory Final – Two Year Olds
(7) WHOSE BLUES is perfect to date and seems as though she hasn’t been asked for her best yet. There could be a big mile coming from the daughter of Cantab Hall here. (4) INTENSE JUSTICE is a two-time Gold winner who commands some respect in this stakes final. (1) ALYVIA DEO had another rough trip last week but hung in there well; exotics factor. (3) HIGHLAND FOXYTROTR is sure-gaited and improving; use underneath.
Race 7 – Two Year Olds NW $6,600 LT
(6) THE WILD CARD goes for a barn that sends them ready and the $52,000 Harrisburg buy likely has much more to offer than what was on display in his lone qualifier; top call. (2) FORCE N FURY fell just short in a good try last week and he may be the one to fend off. (8) HES SWIFT is by a first crop sire that has produced a few fast ones already. I’ll toss him in this Pick 4. (1) WILSONS VINNER could go better here and take a small share.
Race 8 – F&M CLM HDCP $8,000 to $10,000
Interesting race with many shippers. I’ll side with (7) ALWAYS A ROSE who gets her second start out of the Johnson barn and should get sent hard off the gate this time. (1) XELENE BAYAMA is an obvious Pick 4 use to me on the class drop into claimers. (5) ZEALOUS SEELSTER has been lights out at Grand River and she is another chance in a contentious race. (4) BAD NIGHT MARE is worth a look for the bottom of Tris and Supers racing off the claim here.
Race 9 – Two Year Olds
(3) DELIGHTFUL TERROR has caught fire the past three starts and he should be tough here right back; top call. (1) MAYHEM HANOVER fits better here and he should be heard from in this spot. (6) DENALI SEELSTER has some obvious talent but he’s a bit of a mystery coming off a sick scratch. (7) ACES ROCK should leave for position again and that gives him a chance to share.
Race 10 – NW $3,000 L5 or $8,500 L10
(9) POINTS NORTH faced better in New Jersey and looking at his two August qualifiers over this track he looks ready to rock. (8) ON CRUISE CONTROL exits a quick mile at Clinton and adds Lasix here while picking up driver Hudon; price look. (10) SHADOW MOON exits the fastest race and he’s not out of this even starting from out there. (2) BETTORS WESTERN can get a good trip here and land in the Super or High-5. (7) STOLEN ART can come on late and pass some of these to get a check.
