Race 1 – Ontario Sires Stakes – Grassroots 3YO Fillies
(2) SWIFT ALLY won a Grassroots race four starts back then was in three very tough races that went in 1:50 2/5 (twice) and 1:50 3/5. This is more her game and she can get back on track here racing her own age group. (9) MANHATTAN NIGHT was a good second to the choice in that Grassroots win and she rates highly here. (7) GREEN POINT may be worth a flyer changing barns and going for Gallucci here. (6) ARYA STARK almost won one of these races three starts back; consider for the exotics.
Race 2 – F&M 4YO and Younger NW 1 or $7K LT
(3) DRESS TO THE NINES was in an impossible spot last time trying to close from far back into an accelerating late pace. I’ll stick with her here expecting a more aggressive steer starting from the inside. (4) LUS ILLUISON is too well-bred to stay a maiden for long and notice she did neat the choice last time; using. (2) WARAWEE ULLA raced okay for Roy two starts back and she may sneak into the Tri here. (5) FARMGIRL TOUGH qualified okay behind the classy Rockin In Heaven who came out of that race to win on Monday night. She could hit the ticket at a price here.
Race 3 – Two Year Olds
(6) SEBASTIAN RAY took a shuffle at the worst time in his debut then he had to re-rally into the fastest quarter of the race. He can build off that mile. (1) RIPPED AND READY improved sharply and trotted a big mile at Kawartha. A repeat of that effort puts him right there with these. (3) WHOSE BLUES – a $300,000 Lexington purchase for top connections - is an obvious threat here. (8) HEAT WAVE HANOVER is worth a look for the exotics off her July 19th qualifier.
Race 4 – OSS Grassroots 3YO Fillies
(5) TWIN B TIPSTER comes off a powerful win where she took a new life’s mark and she rates top call here. (7) SAULSBROOK JESSIE was like a different filly with McClure driving and she looks like the main threat. (9) CRISP MANE has been driven most aggressively in these Grassroots events and she is worth a look at what might be a big price here. (2) BLUEWATER BEACH should get a good stalking trip and hang around for a share.
Race 5 – OSS Grassroots – 3YO Fillies
(6) AFFLUENT SEELSTER closed nicely on the end of her debut mile and she can beat these with an expected more aggressive steer. (5) FREYA SEELSTER has an experience edge on the choice, and she has already won one of these races this year; using. (8) LADY FINETUNE is clearly new and improved right now and picking up hot driver Filion won’t hurt here. (3) WHITEHAVEN BEACH had a tough trip last week. She can share here.
Race 6 – 4YO and Younger NW 1 or $7K LT
(1) ANGEL MARIE faces much easier here and she gets McClure. She should improve sharply in this spot. (2) TROTSKYIST has the best most recent race and that came last week so he is a must-use for me. (3) AIM HIGH HANOVER was first-up as the pace got quicker and that was with the trainer driving last time. Getting a catch driver back here makes her a contender. (8) TOURIST ATTRACTION is a good one to use on the bottom of the Super in this spot.
Race 7 – OSS Grassroots 3YO Fillies
(7) KYLIE SEELSTER faced a very tough rival twice straight after winning against Grassroots types three starts back. She should be very tough in this spot. (5) SIGNIFICANCE has a tremendous record and the filly she beat handily in the Kin pace Final has already come back to score at this track; using. (3) ERIKAS SHADOW’s most recent mile interests me and she Is a long bomb possibility in this race. (9) SPRINGBRIDGE SASSY was better last time. Her best race puts her right there, but she needs some things to fall her way.
Race 8 – Ontario Sire 2YO Fillies NW $5K LT
(8) TRIZZLE TRAZZLE closed mildly on the end of a fast mile and she gets a slight nod in what appears to be a wide-open race. (9) ROBMOTION BLEUCHIP finished ahead of the choice in that race but she had a better trip. I’ll use her in the late Pick 4. (7) HIT BY A BUS’s 27 2/5 kicker looks good in this field and she’s another that is in with a shot. (4) LADY LIMELIGHT – 1/2-sister to Lady Finetune in race 5 – is worth a look on debut.
Race 9 – NW $3,600 L5 or $7,700 L10
(8) BETTOR OPS N had a decent comeback race and got a clean line, now he gets to drop to the bottom conditioned level. This is a field he should beat. (2) COOL ROCK raced well in a similar class twice straight in June and he should be a threat here. (6) MT STERLING MAFIA should be up near the front early and he figures in here for at least a slice. (5) OFFICER JONES will likely revert to a closing style here and come on late for a share.
Race 10 – OSS Grassroots 3YO Fillies
(5) SPRINGBRIDGEVISION was a Grassroots winner two starts back and she had a tightener for this against a tough filly. She gets top call here. (4) CHARMBO BRIE is another who fits perfectly here, and she should be heard from. (2) BEHAVENMYSELF was kept sharp for this racing older conditioned mares in Ottawa. Don’t sleep on her when punching your late Pick 4 tickets. (1) SALUTATION and (7) BE BEST figure for some smaller shares.
