Race 1

This is a tough race to kick off the Pick 5 with several having past gait issues. I'll give (3) HETTIES MAGIC a slight nod off his most recent solid effort and with him moving inside. (7) MACALLAN trotted her back 1/2 in 56 2/5 in her lone qualifier so there appears to be some talent there; using. (5) ACE BI is two for three, and being that he is the lone winner in the field, he's worth a look. (4) KING FOR LIFE gets his 20th try at breaking his maiden here. I'll use him underneath again in this spot.

Race 2

(6) DRESS TO THE NINES closed into an accelerating late pace in her 2019 debut and she should move forward off that mile; top call. (5) AUMYDARLIN was right there all the way last time and in this field, she is worth a long look. (3) BLUEWATER BEACH is another that comes off a strong effort who could get the job done with a trip. (4) SWEET WESTERN moves inside here and sharp improvement wouldn't be a shock.

Race 3

(7) ARCANIUM has the best race of any of these - his maiden win when last seen in September of last year - and if he's ready, he should be formidable. (8) FITZGIBBONS blew up last time when in against Gold foes. If he stays trotting here, he should be a contender. (5) SHAKE A LEG beat easier at Flamboro but that was a good effort and he's worth a look here. (3) SCARLETT RAIDER can be a threat if he stays flat. This is another Pick 5 race that demands wide coverage.

Race 4

(1) BARN ONE tried changing tactics last time and it didn't work. He gets Christoforou back, his price will climb, and he could trip-out in this spot. (9) FAMILY SPORTS tripped-out to win last week, but that was a solid effort and he should be a threat right back. (8) L WEATHER B is always dangerous at this level. He needs to work out a trip from out there, however. (5) LEADER TONIGHT is a good fit at this level and he can take a good share here.

Race 5

(6) MACHPAPERSCISSORS only needs a better start to earn his maiden win; maybe tonight? (2) KEYSTONE PRESTIGE exits an incredibly fast Grassroots heat and he should improve sharply vs. these; using. (1) TOMORROWS HEADLINE raced well last time and he is worth a price look for the exotics here. (3) OK KUDO faces easier here and he is another that could take this with a trip.

Race 6

(8) OKEANOS moves inside two posts after getting a useful tightener from post 10. I'll give him the nod here. (4) ROSE RUN UNCLEBUCK raced great from post 10 when promoted to a win. He should contend here right back. (3) SETTE DEO adds Lasix for her return and she is an obvious threat if the intent is there. (1) BLAZING TRAIL should be closing to take another share vs. these.

Race 7

(1) MOONSHINE KISSES couldn't stay with Sportsline who was ripping off a wicked fast mile for the class last time. He should be tough vs. these. (2) SPORTS CHARM was flying late and if he gets a more alert start here, he should be right there. (6) BATTLE STRONG may get a good trip on or near the lead. He's the third one I'll use in multi-race bets. (3) TWIN B JAYS was decent in his sophomore debut; consider for exotics.

Race 8

(8) COOL CLIFFORD trotted a huge mile to be a narrow second to a colt that may be the best in the local sophomore trotting division. Anything close to a repeat of that mile makes him very tough here. (2) NORTHERN CAVALIER got out too late but that was a good effort and he should be the main threat to the choice. (9) MAGICAL JOURNEY is in tremendous form, but I'm not sure how hard he will be sent from this post with another Gold event coming soon. (7) JUMPSHOT is a good one to use on the bottom in this spot.

Race 9

(8) PHILS SUN was part of a wild early pace battle last time and he broke stride. His race two starts back puts him right there with these and his price should be good. (3) STONEBRIDGE SURF was dead-game last time and he is the one to catch and beat here. (1) GRAND POOBAH could hit the ticket at a price if he stays flat. (2) HEAD TO THE BEACH is worth a look for use underneath going for a trainer that sends them ready.

Race 10

(4) STATE OF PLAY put in a big effort last week and now he gets a barn and driver change. He should be tough in here. (1) STELIOS raced against some salty claimers at Hoosier in his last two, winning his penultimate start. He fits well here; using. (10) HERCULE J M is in good form and would be rated higher if he drew better; using underneath. (3) BALLPARKFRANK is worth a look for use underneath. (2) MOSSIES ART never misses the top five; consider for Super and High 5 bets.
