Race 1
(6) BRIGHT EYES M qualified well with a sharp kicker and she starts the year in an easy spot; top call. (1) ANGRY EYES takes heavy action every week but she will get there one of these times soon; maybe tonight? (2) TYMAL TULLO had a decent comeback race and he's not out of this - especially if he can start quicker. (4) MATTYS SMILIN looks best of the rest coming off a decent try at big odds.
Race 2
(1) FAMILY SPORTS tripped-out to win when coming off a 5 1/2 month break last week, but some of the same horses that battled in that one are lined up outside so he should get another good setup; call to repeat. (5) BARN ONE had a tightener and he is another who should be coming on late; using. (2) UBER HANOVER was under siege throughout and he backed up late and finished with broken equipment. He could go much better here. (8) BRANDON HANOVER is in great form and he is another who can take this very contentious dash if he gets the right trip.
Race 3
(1) DO YA THINK was right there vs. Grand Circuit company when last seen and this is a great spot for him to kick off his sophomore campaign. (2) SIZE ME UP will no doubt be on 'go' again at the start here and he should be the one to catch. (9) BEACH BABY BEE is sneaky here following a mild try vs. some tough ones. This is a better spot and his race two starts back puts him in the picture vs. these. (7) B STONEY's 26 3/5 kicker from his qualifier makes him interesting for the exotics here.
Race 4
(6) BALDER SON made a huge recovery last week, but he couldn't get to the winner late. He has a big shot if he can stay flat here. (5) JOE MCDUDE tried a well-meant winner last week and while he was game in defeat, he was no match. He should be a big threat here. (7) GAMBLINGTERROR finished with broken equipment last time after getting put into play. His price goes up now and I'll toss him on multi-race tickets. (1) BIG BULLY should be able to close for a smaller share.
Race 5
(3) JUST MY SHADOW powered home to beat a filly that came back to win her next start and she has a good chance to repeat here. (2) BLOSSOM ONTHEBEACH raced against tough ones most of last year and she looks primed for a good sophomore debut effort; using. (6) THATS INCREDIBLE was on a roll when last seen in the fall and she adds Lasix here for her return; using. (7) CLEARLY BETTER is capable of better and she should be passing some of these late to take a small share, at least.
Race 6
(5) SWEET CHAPTER qualified faster than her rivals have been trotting in races for purses. She should be tough in here. (6) MAGICAL WINNER K is on a roll and she will be the one to hold off down the lane again. (4) STONEBRIDGE SYMBA was decent last year, and she looks ready to produce a good effort off the bench here; using underneath. (1) SOUTHWIND CASHA should get a good spot near the front early, which puts her in the exotics mix.
Race 7
(8) SAUBLE DELIGHTFUL raced huge from the worst post last year and she was picked off only late by a filly that rode her perfect cover. She rates highly here. (7) LOVELY DONNA was third to a filly who won racing off the shelf Monday night. She's worth a look at a price here. (5) MRS MAJOR HILL and (4) MACHARITA are two that I'll use in the 3-4 slot in the exotics.
Race 8
(4) SILVER BEAST tripped-out to beat his main rival last week, but he dropped more than two seconds in doing so and he should be tough here. (6) MOHAWK SEELSTER was professional in his debut in the slop and the 2017 London Select Sale topper looks like the main threat to the choice. (2) ST LADS CASH looks best of the rest and he can complete the Tri if he stays flat this time. (9) LUCKY LEVIS produces a solid closing effort every week and he's another to consider using underneath.
Race 9
(1) KINGOFBROKENHEARTS was simply too far back last time, but he did keep trying. He should start better here leaving from the inside and he gets the nod. (2) LEADER TONIGHT faces much easier here moving from handicap to allowance conditions and if he is going to wake up, this is the spot. (3) BR EZILIKSNDYMORNIN produced a winning effort in his first try in this class and he should be a speed threat again. (4) GOLDINTHEBADLANDS has hit the board in two straight at this level and he showed last week he can take some air; using underneath.
Race 10
(8) KICKIN COWGIRL was perfectly driven to win last week, but that was a fast mile and she appears to hold a speed edge here; top call. (9) TEQUILA PARTY is capable of better and maybe she'll get more aggressive early this time seeing as she had a tightener. (5) FIERY BEAUTY went a long trip last time and she paid the price late. She should be a factor here. (1) GOODNIGHT IRENE has been racing well and she can better this placing with a good trip. (7) PAZZA HANOVER started out quickly last year. She has some upset possibilities.
