Race 1 - F&M 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT - **GTD $75,000 Pick 5**
(8) LADY NATASHA’s two recent races in non-winners-of-two company at Yonkers were decent and she could get sent on a speed mission here in the opener. (4) LA BELLE REBELLA couldn't close much last Thursday as many sitting in mid-pack came out. She should improve here. (6) BOTTLE OF RED was good in her seasonal bow rallying late and she should be close to the front early too. That's probably the place to be in this race. Her stablemate (7) BEACH BOUTIQUE qualified well over a track rated four seconds slow and she is another in with a shot here.
Race 2- CLM $15,000 for NW $60,000 LT
(3) SPARE SEED could get an easier trip up front with Guccio's Office not in the class this week and he gets my nod over likely chalk (4) SOMBRE, who is obvious on paper and should get a more aggressive steer this week. (2) SUMSECRET raced better with Henry driving last week and he wouldn't be a big shock here. (6) AUSTIN HALL can improve dropping back in for a tag; consider for the bottom of the exotics.
Race 3 – 4YO and Younger NW2 or $21,000 LT
(4) RADLEY HANOVER was put into the race early last week and he got a great trip then converted. This spot looks no tougher; call to repeat. (2) HEART ON MY SLEEVE faces tougher here but he was a sharp debut winner and he should contend again. (6) BOOS LITTLE JIM drove around a duo that hooked wheels in the third 1/4 last week then he raced evenly. He is capable of better. Give him a look for the bottom of the Tri. (8) LETS GET PICKLED looked like he might brush past the field last week, but he broke - perhaps trying to go too fast all at once - and he is a possible bomb here.
Race 4 – 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7,000 LT - Pick 4
(7) BEYOND BETTER is a homebred full brother to 1:53 pacer Thats Incredible and he finds a good spot to make his debut; top call. (6) ROCKNROLLS SHADOW was beaten by a predictable winner last week and he should be right there again. (2) CANTFINDABETTORMAN comes off a solid try and his potent early speed is a plus in this field; using. (1) JUSTA BANDIT is showing some progress and it wouldn't be a surprise if he hit the board tonight.
Race 5 – CLM $15,000 For NW $57,000 LT
(5) QUAN BLUE CHIP made a couple of moves last week but he was unable to hold off (3) BETTORS PARLAY late after that rival enjoyed a golden covered trip protected from a strong wind. Slight nod to the former here, but I'll use both on multi-race tickets. (6) MACHO POLO has improved recently, and he is worth a look for the Exacta and Tri here. (4) L WEATHER B can pass a few of these late and take a slice.
Race 6 – CLM HDCP $10,000 TO $12,000 - Late Pick 5
(7) CROCADILE CANYON meets far easier here and he can get back on track vs. these. (6) DABUNKA was an unlucky loser last week, softened up late by a strong wind. He should be the main threat. (2) TOXICITY is worth a close look racing off the Shepherd claim here. He could improve sharply. (4) NEEDLECREST attracted a Moreau claim the other night at Flamboro Downs and he has raced well here in the past; price look.
Race 7 – NW $3,000 L5 or $8,900 L8 - Pick 4
(9) SILVERLODE qualified nicely for this at Flamboro Downs and I'll take a swing on the barn change despite her drawing widest. (3) ODD BALL raced better last week, and he'll win soon, but he will probably get overbet again here. (4) GREAT MAGIC is always a good one to use underneath in Tris and Supers. (1) LADY CATERINA can sit a trip racing near the front and stick around for a small share.
Race 8 – 5YO and Younger NW2 or $32,000 LT
(7) DARTH FADER continues to roll, and he should take another here at a small price. (4) SPRINGBRIDGE JIM missed three weeks prior to last week's race so there's reason to think he might have a better shot of knocking the choice off this time. (2) HOPE FOR HEAVEN can contend for a board finish getting his nose back on the gate to start here. (6) SIZE ME UP rarely misses the top four; consider when making Super bets.
Race 9 - CLM HDCP $15,000 to $18,000 for NW 3 or $86,000 LT
(7) FARMERS TAN faces many of the same ones he beat as the even money choice last week and he stands a good chance to double up here. (5) NO TIME AT ALL battled first-up in that race and he could turn the tables if he can find an easier trip here. (3) TRIDENT SEELSTER is developing a good late kick and he should be coming on for a share again. (1) STATE OF PLAY will likely stay glued to the pylons here and that gives him a good chance to land in the Tri.
Race 10 – NW $3,000 L5 or $7,800 L10
The last time (4) DARKEST SECRET raced this low (on November 26th) he was led all the way to win with Filion driving and that teamster returns here; top call. (7) STOLEN ART closed some ground late here on Monday night and he’s worth a look on the quick return. (8) SHADES OF BAY is in good form, but his rallies are often compromised by his tendency to drift to the far outside part of the track. I’ll use him underneath here. (1) WALTER MITTY is another one coming back on three days rest that could improve here. (2) DREAMY FELLA is usually in the mix racing at this level and I’ll toss him in the High-5.
