Race 1
(5) ALL WRAPPED UP beats these if he minds his manners and replicates his second last start. (1) COUSIN PETER raced well in the Grassroots class for several weeks and he should be a threat here. (4) FINGALS WAVE is worth a look with his improving form of late. (7) COOL CLIFFORD raced decently from the second tier in the Grassroots final. He can contend here if he minds his manners.
Race 2
(2) MAGICS LUCKY CHARM put up a good fight from the worst post in the Grassroots final, but she was simply second best then. She gets my nod here. (7) ALONA was trying to close into a fast final quarter to no avail. She fits here; using. (1) HOPES SOLO is an obvious fit in this class but her gait issues resurfacing last time is worrisome to me. (6) MELANIE G was in an impossible spot last out. She can do better here.
Race 3
(7) SUGARTOWN blasted and got used up early last time vs. Gold foes. He could wire this group. (3) MANTARIO has raced well in every Mohawk start but he may not get the right setup in this short field. (6) SHADOW OF A DAUT raced tough last time and he should get good position early. He's not out of this. (5) BETTER THAN SINGLE produces good efforts for McClure and the colt that beat him last time came back to repeat Monday night. He's another
Race 4
(1) BEACH BAR faces maidens for the first time and she has a big shot here. (5) WAR CRIMES was solid in her debut. She should be the main danger. (7) DOCS DARLIN can close again for a slice. (3) SAND ARTIST took a ton of action last week then only raced evenly. Her record sits at 0 for 20 now; your call.
Race 5
(2) JILONA drops into a claimer and she won off a similar drop at Woodbine last December; slight nod. (10) THE POWER OF MANY goes back to Moreau and she's always a threat it seems. (9) TIKI TAKA was sharp in victory last week when he dropped to this class. I'll use him in the multis here. (7) GLENCOVE ZANI can take a slice if he trots the whole mile.
Race 6
(7) BETTER THAN CASH was used twice early in the mile last time vs. Gold opponents. A slightly easier trip vs. weaker here and he's a winner. (2) SHRIMP AND GRITS was only asked in the lane in his debut and he closed well. Don't be surprised if he takes some action. (6) BETTER THAN BOOTS has improving form and he can hit the ticket vs. these. (1) MILLENIUM SEELSTER gets Christoforou back for this and he could emerge from a following trip to round out the Tri or Super.
Race 7
(6) IMF is racing great and she meets a field she should beat if provided with a well-timed move. (1) P L KETCHUP was stubborn in defeat when nailed very late by the odds-on chalk last time. He should be a big threat here. (5) DONATO LANE has gone off form but if he can stay trotting, he rates highly in comparison to his rivals. (4) CHEATALOTPOV can close and take a smaller share here.
Race 8
(1) VENICE looks best here, but it's hard to accept a low price on any horse in this race. (5) PENNANT SEELSTER will contend if he can race back to his effort two starts back. (8) ICANTSTANDLOSING was better last week and he's worth a look for a price in the exotics. (9) TORCHES PIRATE also raced decently last time and he's another that can take a share at a price.
Race 9
(1) CLASSIFIEDMATERIAL faces much easier now and a Henry wire job could very well be in the cards. I'll take a stand and single him in the late Pick 4. (3) PERKINS is also in a better spot and he should be closing down the lane. (2) ROUSSEAU's mile three starts back puts him right in the picture here, but the choice has a tactical advantage. (5) CARLISIMO comes in off a sharp win and he should be in the mix for the exotics.
Race 10
(5) ALLTHEFIXINS gets a slight nod in a race with little form based on facing easier. (8) SINFUL also gets class relief and his late charge could play well. (7) ESA has been off a long time, but there's every chance Takter can have him ready for this. (2) JMR PINARELLO could close for a piece of this if he races from off the pace as expected.
Race 11
(4) DREAMFAIR TECATE is better than he has shown in his past few starts. Maybe new trainer Gilmour can wake him up. (3) AMERICAN MUSIC will rightfully get lots of play here off his most recent 1:52 4/5 mile, but he's no cinch. (1) HAL N SAMMY raced much better last time now he moves inside. He can share. (9) FREE PROOF brings good from in from Flamboro and he should be a good price. I'll use him underneath. (7) SOUTHWIND GRIZZLY is another who can crack the exotics at a price if provided with a decent trip.
