Woodbine Mohawk Park: Stockade Seelster shines again in OSS Gold Series

Stockade Seelster ran his career record to five wins from five starts thanks to a 1:52 tally in Friday night's single C$158,100 Ontario Sires Stakes event for 2-year-old colt and gelding pacers at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Driver Jody Jamieson blasted out from post five with Stockade Seelster and took the top spot away from Sounds Good (Doug McNair) after the 26 3/5 opening quarter. Stockade Seelster was then able to rate the middle-half in 55 4/5 and 1:24 2/5, and a 27 3/5 last quarter sealed his one length victory. Ace Of Aces (James MacDonald) angled out in the lane after an inside trip and closed well to finish second, and Write Me A Rose (Sylvain Filion) was third after a second-over journey.
"He's so strong. He's above the rest of them right now, and hopefully he stays that way," said Jamieson. "The colt's been so good since the start. I got to drive him, and that's five in-a-row now, his five lifetime starts and he's been so strong. I'm just thinking to the next week, and we'll see what happens from there.
"I'm sure he's eligible for the Metro. I think Doc's [trainer Dr. Ian Moore] giving him next week off. I'm not sure if there's a stake or he's going to skip one and then come back in two weeks. His schedule's pretty rigorous there for a 2-year-old colt, so he's just going to try and manage him. He's done that, and he's going to continue to do so, and hopefully the colt stays well."
