Race 4 - $50,000 Guaranteed Pick Four Pool
Pick 5 – 1,2,5/2,8/1,5,6,7/3,4,9/1,6 = $28.80
Early Pick 4 – 3,4,9/1,6/2,3,4/5,7 = $36
Late Pick 4 – 2,3,5/2,5/3,5/5,7 = $24
Race 1 – 5YO and Younger NW 5 or $87,500 LT – GTD $50K Pick 5
Great race with several fast colts, but the fastest appears to be Somebeachsomewhere Stakes winner (2) TYGA HANOVER, who draws well and should control this race. (5) SPORTSLINE has won 15 of 19 and eight in a row and comes off a new life’s mark. He is the main threat. (1) FAST N FIRST could sit a nice trip following the top two and I’ll use him as a possible live bomb in the Pick 5. (6) FOOT SOLDIER will fight it out with others for the scraps most likely.
Race 2 – 5YO and Younger NW 4 or $50K LT
(8) NO ORDINARY MAN finished ahead of several very good colts last time and he should beat these. (2) THE REGULATOR was lights out in a Grassroots race, but these types are tricky to read as they often save their best for those Grassroots dashes. Obviously, another 1:49 4/5 mile would put him right there. (3) SUGARTOWN is another who woke up in the Grassroots last time. I expect a smaller share for him here. (4) BETTER MOONON OVER can sit a good trip near the front here and take a slice.
Race 3 – Fillies and Mares Preferred
(5) KENDALL SEELSTER looked good at the end of her comeback race and she may pop now. (7) SEASWIFT JOY is very tough in this class and she’s the one to beat. (6) DOUBLE A MINT has taken a few weeks off since testing the big girls, but she obviously fits here, and she should contend. (1) SHOWER PLAY was also decent in her comeback race and she is another threat in a contentious dash.
Race 4 – NW $16K L5 or NW $26K L10 AE: NW $125K LT of OPT CLM $45K - $50K GTD Pick 4
(4) PLAY JET RAY pushed some wicked fractions racing on the rim last week. He gets Jamieson here and perhaps he will trip him out; slight nod. (8) BRAVE WORLD is an obvious threat dropping in class and Roy will likely roll him; using. (3) ELLIS PARK is sharp, and he gets post relief here. He has upset potential. (2) YACHT SEELSTER will likely get sent here and that should lead to a him grabbing a spot in the Super.
Race 5 – OSS Gold 2YO Colts and Geldings
In a contentious Gold event with several chances, I’ll give a slight nod to (1) DENALI SEELSTER who is sent out by a win early barn and my get the trip leaving from the inner post. (6) LOTTERY WINNER has the fastest mile and is sent out by the North America Cup winning trainer; using. (4) EXAMINER HANOVER looked good in his lone qualifier then was a vet scratch sick; mixed signals here. (8) VELOCITY RUKKUS is another promising-looking colt in with a shot here. It makes sense to price shop in this contentious race.
Race 6 – NW $11K L5 or $22K L10 AE: OPT CLM $30K
(4) MAKE SOME LUCK looked like his old self last week and if that race helped tighten him up even more, he should be right there vs. these despite the move up. (3) EAST END is an obvious contender on the class drop starting from a good post. (2) AMERICAN VIRGIN also drops and rates a long look here. (7) LONE WOLF TERROR is one that can close late and add some value to the Tri or Super.
Race 7 – F&M NW $10K L5 or NW $20K L10 AE: OPT CLM $25K
(5) CIRCLE THE PAGE dropped in class and was strangely let go at 6 to 1 in a race she won easily last week. She steps back up but is a major player here and driver Henry has been on fire for a while. (7) THIS DRAGON ROCKS drops and gets a better post. She should improve sharply here. (1) JIMBELINA rode the pocket all the way behind the choice last time and she rates a look for the exotics here. (3) THRILLONTHEBEACH was a strong winner last week but these are tougher, and I’ll use her underneath.
Race 8 – OSS Gold 2YO Colts and Geldings – Late Pick 4
(4) THE AMAINGSANDO was reportedly sold this week prior to this initial start. I’ll take a swing on him here at what could be a big price. (5) YS MATHIS made several moves and fell just short in his debut in what should be a good primer for this first OSS Gold try. (2) SAM MCKEE HANOVER was right there on the wire with YS Mathis; using. (9) SPORTS OBSESSION tripped out to beat some of these now he draws the worst post of the main contenders. I’ll use him underneath.
Race 9 – Preferred
A short field helps (5) PHYSICALLYINCLINED here who is surely pointed to the front. He may bully this group. (2) EASY LOVER HANOVER got shuffled out of the race last week. That’s unlikely to happen again and he remains a viable contender. (4) CASIMIR RICHIE P will likely defer to the choice early and look for a trip here; using underneath. (6) POINTIMYGRANSON can come on late and pass a couple of rivals here.
Race 10 – NW $22K L5 or NW $39K L10 AE: OPT CLM $55K AE: 3 Year Olds
(5) CENTURY FARROH paced a 26 2/5 second 1/4 to take control last week and he is sharp as a tack and full of confidence; top call. (3) PEDRO HANOVER has recaptured his best form and he should be the main threat here. (2) BRONX SEELSTER and (1) STAG PARTY both seem to be a notch below their best currently but either could pop here if they can find one of their better efforts.
Race 11 – NW $5,500 L5 or $10K L10
(7) IDEAL JET gets the best driver to launch him on an all-out speed mission and he gets top call with Roy in the bike. (5) XTERNAL is racing well and he gets a slight class drop here; using. (6) KWIK TALKIN was over bet last time, but breaking stride early made his mission impossible. He’s stuck with no wins still this year. I’ll use him on the bottom. (1) BILLS FELLA has some appeal here on the class drop. Keep him in mind for Tri and Super bets. (3) DREAMY FELLA is another good one to use underneath here.
