Woodbine Mohawk Park: Pocket trip pays off for R Liza in OSS Gold Series
?q=100)
R Liza, the winner of her SBOA Stakes final earlier this month, added an Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series title to her haul by taking Monday night's lone C$140,000 test for 3-year-old filly trotters at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Driver Jody Jamieson worked out a pocket trip for R Liza and stalked 3-5 favorite Willys Home Run (James MacDonald) through fractions of 27, 56 1/5 and 1:25 4/5. In the stretch Jamieson tipped R Liza to the outside, and after a bit of a battle, she was able to go by Willys Home Run on her way to the victory by three-quarters of a length in 1:54 3/5. Willys Home Run held off a closing P L Rainbow Dash (Bob McClure) to get runner-up honors.
