Party Girl Hill kept her unbeaten streak alive with another dominant performance, capturing the C$400,000 Fan Hanover Stakes final for 3-year-old pacing fillies at Woodbine Mohawk Park on Saturday night in 1:49 2/5 for driver Doug McNair. Lady Lou and Priceless left hard off the middle of the starting gate, with Lady Lou and Jody Jamieson getting control and Priceless making a costly break. McNair settled in the third spot with Party Girl Hill heading into the opening turn but didn’t wait long to move. Once Lady Lou hit the opening fraction in 26 3/5, McNair set sail for the front, and Party Girl Hill obliged, clearing well before the 55 4/5 half. Unlike a week earlier in the elimination when McNair invited competition, in the Fan Hanover final he let Party Girl Hill, a daughter of Captaintreacherous, roll, keeping the outer flow stymied through a 27 2/5 third quarter sprint. Second choice Peaky Sneaky and driver Yannick Gingras followed the cover of Laura's Love from second-over during that quarter, but neither were able to get very close to the pace-setter. Gingras sent Peaky Sneaky wide late on the final bend, but by that time McNair had kicked Party Girl Hill into high gear and kept her under active encouragement the entire final quarter. Party Girl Hill was an open lengths winner after a 27 1/5 final quarter, with Lady Lou chasing her down in vain but holding off Peaky Sneaky on the wire for the place spot. "I just kind of rolled her along a little more this week," said McNair. "She can just carry her speed so far. Obviously, you can tell tonight...she paced right through to the wire. I was really happy with her." Tom Hill owns and bred Party Girl Hill, and Chantal Mitchell has trained the filly in Ontario with Chris Ryder staying home in the U.S. Party Girl Hill returned $3.70 as the public choice.
