Woodbine Mohawk Park: OSS Gold Series smorgasbord held on Monday
Several Ontario Sires Stakes Gold Series races for a number of divisions headlined Monday night's program at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
Driver James MacDonald won a pair of the events, guiding 2-year-old trotting filly Monalishi, the Peaceful Way Stakes champion, to a 1:54 3/5 victory in her C$140,000 contest for trainer Blake Macintosh, co-owner of the Shmuel Farhi-bred daughter of Green Manalishi with Tim Klemencic, and sophomore filly trotter Willys Home Run to a 1:53 decision in her C$140,000 test. Willys Home Run, by Archangel and trained by Kyle Fellows, was bred by Reg Higgs and is co-owned by him with Dr. Sara Gatchell, Jake Higgs and Yolanda Fellows.
A single C$140,000 dash also went behind the gate for rookie colt and gelding trotters, and favored You Go It Kemp (Sylvain Filion) got the job done in 1:55 flat. Suojalampi Stable Inc. bred the winner, a Muscle Mass gelding, with Kemppi Stables Oy Inc. and now co-own him with trainer Dan Lagace along with Brady and Brooke Lagace.
