Race 1 - ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS – 3YO Colts and Geldings - **GTD $50K Pick 5**
(2) CLIFFHANGER looked loaded the entire mile last time and when he got clearance in the stretch he exploded with a big win; call to repeat. (6) LEGION SEELSTER has yet to be tested and while this is obviously tougher, he may be up to the task; but if the choice is as good tonight as he was two Mondays ago, he’ll be very tough to beat. (5) BETTER MOONON OVER is always around the money at the wire and he isn’t impossible in this spot, but I prefer to use him underneath. (7) JAY EYE EM is worth a look for the exotics at a price.
Race 2 – 2YO Fillies NW $8,600 LT
(6) KIT closed well last time despite having an eventful journey and this field looks easier; top call. (5) MIA CULPA moves to the middle of the gate and keeps driver Roy. She is in with an upset chance. (10) EVEN LOUDER looks like one of the better fillies in here and if she can get the job done from post 10, she should add some value to the Pick 5. (7) TRIZZLE TRAZZLE should be passing rivals late to take a slice.
Race 3 – F&M CLM HDCP $10,000 to $15,000
(5) ALWAYS A ROSE gets the call to repeat after beating all but one of these on August 22nd. (6) ZEALOUS SEELSTER was a solid second in that race and she should be the main threat again in a race that could play out identically. (3) K J ALLISON couldn’t advance first up in that race. I’ll sue her on the bottom of the Tri again. (1) XELENE BAYAMA is an in-and-outer and right now she is best used underneath.
Race 4 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS – 3yo Colts and Geldings - **GTD $50K Pick 4**
(5) PRICELESS BEACH raced much better the past two starts and I’ll call him for a mild upset over (6) SPORTSLINE, who got back on track last time but also rode a perfect trip to victory. (2) DREAMFAIR MOXY was in a fast race last Monday that should serve as a great tightener for this; using. (9) CARLISIMO exits the same race and he could pop at a price here if he can work out a trip starting from out there.
Race 5 – Ontario Sired 2YO Fillies Grassroots Starters NW $7,800 LT
(8) ZEPHYR SEELSTER came close to beating better than these two starts back before a failed try at Hanover. McClure returns and she gets the nod. (6) COCO BEACH DE VIE gets a NOTABLE driver change here and she should wake up in a big way here; using. (9) MYSTIC SHADOW is capable of leaving quickly and getting position and getting Henry to drive here won’t hurt. I’ll toss her on multi-race bets as a price option. (5) IMTHEBIGSIS has improving form and she could sneak onto the Super at a price.
Race 6 – NW $10,000 L5 or $22,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $30,000
(2) KAMERAN HANOVER was raced aggressively last time he raced this low and he should be prominent throughout here. (5) MONTALBANO BI put in another solid effort last week but the winner was too tough. He’s in the mix here. (6) MAJOR MUSCLE comes off a huge score in Georgian’s top class and he’s too sharp to leave out here. (9) WHAT A RUSH won impressively last week but he loses his driver to the #5 horse; small share predicted.
Race 7 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES GRASSROOTS 3YO Colts and Geldings – Pick 4
(7) MOONSHINE KISSES seems to have reached peak form again and he should be tough in this spot. (1) HP NAPOLEON was picked off by a colt that got a perfect trip last time. He should be right there starting from the inside. (3) SUGARTOWN typically races best in these Grassroots races and he is in with a decent shot here, too. (6) THE REGULATOR often outraces his odds; consider for the exotics.
Race 8 – NW $6,300 L5 or $13,000 L10 AE: OPT CLM $30,000
(9) HEMI SEELSTER drops and he stands a good chance of bottoming out this field, but he is one that is prone to behavioral issues which leads to breaks. Check him out in the post parade and scoring down before plunging. (5) ODDS ON AMETHYST had no shot with the trip he got last week. He is a viable contender here and his price should climb. (2) SO NOT COOL qualified well for this; consider for the exotics. (3) A J DESTINY faces tougher here moving out of the claiming ranks but he’s in great form and he can share.
Race 9 – ONTARIO SIRES STAKES Grassroots – 3yo Colts and Geldings
(7) FAST N FIRST is sharp as a tack right now and he’ll take beating as the likely chalk here. (1) CARSONS SHADOW was a Grassroots winner two starts back when McClure drove then he had a useful tightener at Georgian between starts; using. (4) BETTER THAN CASH should get a good trip racing near the front here and take a share. (9) OK KUDO is sharp right now, but post does him no favors here. If he drew better, I might take a shot with him to upset. From out there, I’ll use him underneath.
Race 10 – 2YO Fillies NW2 or $31,000 LT
This race should come down to the two fillies dropping out of a Grand Circuit race battling it out and I’ll give (5) ALEXA SKYE the nod seeing as she handled (1) MARTINIQUE BEACH on July 30th. The latter could be dangerous if she drafts behind the choice, so I’ll use both in the Pick 4. (6) QUESO RELLENO has shown improvement but she’ll need more speed here to beat the two above. (9) WANNASHAKEYOURTREE shows some fast kickers in her two races over this track and she could be coming late to nab a share. (2) MS BRAMPTON BEAST’s good gate speed can put her in position to finish on the edges here.
