Race 1
(4) STORMONT CHARLOTTE gave the heavy chalk a decent battle last week, but there are none in here that look as good as that rival, so this filly gets top billing. (1) ZORGWIJK SOPHIA surged late to win at big odds in what was a new life's best and she's the main threat here. (6) LADYS INTUITION was on the move when she ran last week. She can pass some of these late and take a share If she stays flat. (7) FRICK has been better the past couple of starts and may get a piece of this with a good start.
Race 2
(5) CHRISTMAS CANDY gets a much better post here and she should race closer to her line from three starts back; top call. (1) GALARY GIRL faces easier here and gets Zeron back; expect improvement. (2) ALLERAGE STARGAZER is one that can leave in the top flight then stick around for a share. (3) NORTHERN LIGHTNING has a race three back that would put her in the mix here if she could replicate that effort.
Race 3
(6) VINCENT VAN GO races off the claim for a barn that can move one up sharply. Watch the board for clues here. (2) BRICKMAN is logical dropping below the claimed price here and I imagine he will attract a buyer. (8) ROCKIN RONNIE also drops and check out his win at this level two starts back. (9) SINGHAMPTON KENNY was too far back last time, but he could get the same trip here and close for only a small share.
Race 4
(5) A ROD HALL takes a big class drop and moves off the worst post. He should be formidable here. (4) WILLYORWONTHE can sit a nice trip near the front and pounce late here. He should be a threat. (1) WHISKEY TAX has been winless for a long time, but he can share here starting from the inside. (3) CHESTNUT SCHOFIELD stopped last time, but dropping a level, he should be able to hang around for a slice.
Race 5
(8) ITS JUST TOO MUCH appears to have worked some issues out based on his solid qualifier on August 7th. He gets a slight nod in a wide-open race. (9) CABLE BEACH A was good in a quick mile last week in this class and he should be in the thick of things here despite the poor post. (7) TERRA COTTA LAD faces easier here and he has some sneaky good form; using. (4) GREAT TUNE also faces easier and he should wake up with a better try.
Race 6
(5) TOUCHDOWN AS is double entered in this class for tonight and Thursday. In a race where I don't love anything, I'll land here on the angle that the connections think they're winning this and racing back in the same class Thursday. (8) SMOKE MONKEY brings good form in from Kawartha and he took a mark of 1:53 2/5 here last year; using. (2) ROSESAREEXPLOSIVE could get a good setup for her closing kick here. She's another who can win this. (7) AMITYVILLE LINDY is improving, and he wouldn't be a big shock in this spot.
Race 7
Great tilt here with some undefeated colts knocking heads, but I'll take a swing to beat them with (5) MACS POWER, who picks up hot driver McClure after getting a no-chance drive last week. (4) CAPTAIN AHAB has been excellent so far and he is hard to fault as is (2) BLANK CANVAS. This should be a really good race. (9) CAPTAIN NASH beat the choice off a perfect trip, but it gets tougher here with the move outside; smaller share predicted.
Race 8
(8) REGIL TIGER looks like he has recaptured his best form which means he could string a few top performances together now; top call. (4) NEEDLECREST was showing improvement leading up to his last race in which he blew up the tote board. He's in with a shot to double up here. (9) WEB CAM is interesting to me here switching to trainer/driver Sheppard; consider for exotics. (1) J K COWBOY should get a good trip again and he's another who can round out the Tri or Super.
Race 9
(6) STORMONT VENTNOR closed well into the fastest part of the race last time and he was beaten by a tough foe two back. He merits getting top call here. (1) TRY TRY AGAIN won at a big price on the driver switch and he should be a threat right back after taking a new life's mark in that race. (4) RUN DIRECTOR is in very good form and he's another I'll use in a tricky race that will serve as a stakes prep for some. (5) ESQUIRE showed no ill effects of missing a month's racing action, but these are tougher, and I expect he won't double up in this spot.
Race 10
(4) WINNING LYRIC trotted an excellent back 1/2 into an accelerating pace last time and he can beat these if there is a more even pace carved out. (7) ZEUS LIGHTNING drops back to the class where he is most effective, and he should be prominent here. (5) MIGHTY NICKY had no shot last time with the trip he got and while he's a contender from a better post here, look at how many times in a row he has been beaten as chalk. (2) ALLIES GIFT has taken 25 slices in her past 54 starts; using underneath. (1) BEE IN CHARGE is worth a look for the exotics moving inside several posts.
