Race 1 – NW $10K L5 or $20KL10 AE: OPT CLM $30K – GTD $50K Pick 5
(1) HOCKEY HANOVER had no shot chasing two runaway winners in his last two starts but he did trot good last quarters. He should be a major player here getting class relief. (8) ODD BALL got a clean line now he too drops in class. He could pop here. (4) SHOSHIE DEO was a winner last time he raced this low on June 4th which is an angle that produces many winners. (3) ODDS ON AMETHYST is unpredictable but capable. I’ll use him underneath here.
Race 2 – CLM HDCP $18K to $25K
(8) RACEMUP may have slowed the pace too much last week and kept the eventual winner alive racing uncovered on the rim. He can bounce back here. (6) JIMMY BE GOOD was live and right there all the way last week. He can be a big factor again. (4) P L IDAHO went a huge trip to beat the choice last time. He’s not known for pairing up wins but that was a super effort and he’s hard to leave out now. (5) FAMILY SPORTS can get a better start here leaving from mid-gate and he is another factor in a contentious race.
Race 3 – Two Year Old Fillies
(1) ALEXA SKYE was a strong second to a repeat winner who cut slow fractions last time. She looks best here. (6) LIBSPEAK looks primed and ready for a top barn and she should be ready for a solid debut effort. (2) WANNASHAKEYOURTREE goes for a barn that can pop with young horses at big prices; using in the exotics. (4) LOUD JET can make it into the Super here with a trip.
Race 4 –- F&M 4YO and Younger NW1 or $7K LT - $50K GTD Pick 4
(5) DRESS TO THE NINES finished well despite being out of position last week. She can beat these if she gets put into the race earlier. (6) PASSPORT HANOVER is getting closer and she should be the one to catch. (7) AFFLUENT SEELSTER – 1/2-sister to the good local mare Azure Seelster – is worth a look in this spot which doesn’t appear to be that tough. (3) LUS ILLUSION is showing signs of improvement; consider for the exotics at a price.
Race 5 – OSS Gold 2YO Colts and Geldings
I’ll take a swing for an upset here with (4) ANETO who was flying late in his debut. (3) BETTOR AT HIGHTIDE impressed in his first Gold outing and he may be the one to beat here. (7) ONE FOR JULIUS is one of several Hes Watching colts who has done well immediately, and he is hard to toss here. (10) YS MATHIS was loaded but sitting four horses back on the inside last time and he managed to stickhandle his way to an improbable win. Post is an obvious issue, but he isn’t in an impossible spot. Let price be your guide with this colt.
Race 6 – Two Year Olds
(6) SEBASTIAN RAY has trained well all winter and spring and he has a good chance to pop at first asking here. (3) MAGIC BOB drops out of a Gold race and draws well. You’d think Henry will be sending this time. (7) MAGICS WIZARD went off chalk in Gold company. This spot is easier, and he should be right there on the wire. (1) HORSE TRADER came out of the clouds to win at Georgian and he looked good doing it. Improvement is likely coming from him.
Race 7 – OSS Gold 2YO Colts and Geldings – Late Pick 4
(1) MAYHEM HANOVER raced a little green down the lane last week but still paced the fastest mile of any of these. Stepping up to this Gold may not be that tough; top call. (5) BETTERBUCKLEUP is capable of better and he’s likely to show leaving from a much better post. (7) BEACH BLANKET BOOK went a long trip but stayed game. He has upset possibilities here. (6) TATTOO ARTIST was impressive in his debut and while this is tougher, he’s not out of it.
Race 8 – Ontario Sired 3YO Fillies Grassroots starters in 2019 who are NW of $30K in 2019
(4) CRISP MANE was in an impossible spot last time trying to close into a 55 3/5 back 1/2 and pass the chalk on a night where the front end ruled more than ever. She gets the nod here and her price should be good. (5) PAZZA HANOVER made a big move into a slow third 1/4 last week then drew off. She should be tough right back. (2) TWIN B TIPSTER faced some salty older foes last week and she raced well. She is in with an upset chance here. (3) FREYA SEELSTER should get a decent trip from this post and take a slice.
Race 9 – Ontario Sired 3YO Fillies Grassroots starters in 2019 who are NW of $15K in 2019
(5) SHESONEHOTWRITER took a new life’s mark last time she came off a vet scratch two starts back and while that isn’t likely a reliable repeatable angle, that mile stacks up well here and I’ll take a shot with her one more time. (2) CAFE SOCIETY is coming around now – note two 27 1/5 kickers in a row – and she could pop for her first 2019 score soon. (4) MY BABY GIRL is capable but erratic. I’ll use her underneath here. (3) TRIP ACES HANOVER has improved sharply in her last two starts. She’s another possibility in a wide-open race.
Race 10 – F&M 4YO and Younger NW 2 or $30K LT
(7) PREMIER CABERNET comes off a big effort and with any kind of a slightly easier trip she should beat these. (6) CHOCOLATEMILKTOAST is another coming off a big mile where a tripped-out winner slipped by her late. This race could come down to these two in the stretch. (5) RED RIVER JANE has faced some tough fillies for several weeks. She’s in with an upset chance in here. (4) HAKIMA was predictably overbet last week after being locked in the week before. I’ll use her underneath again. (3) SIGNET is another good one to use on the bottom in this spot.
