Race 1 – NW $11,000 L5 or $24,500 L10 AE: OPT CLM $30,000 - **GTD $75,000 Pick 5**
(4) DUNBAR HALL was good in his return race and he towers over these on class when he is right. If he stays flat, he should beat these. (5) MAJOR MUSCLE was inching in late but he couldn’t get to Hemi Seelster last week. He remains a viable contender. (1) MEADOWBRANCH MEMO is getting closer and one of these weeks he is going to pass them all; maybe tonight? (6) SUPER SCHISSEL was a winner at this level two starts back but he faced easier that night. I’ll use him on the bottom here.
Race 2 - NW $3,000 L5 or $7,800 L10
(4) DREAMFAIR B J drops to the bottom conditioned level and gets a barn change here. He should be tough to beat vs. these. (1) THE REGULATOR set solid splits and was picked off late in the lane here Thursday night. He should be the main threat coming back on short rest. (5) PHIL THE THRILL is always closing at the end of his miles and he should take a piece of this despite missing some time. (7) ROCK THIS WAY is another who should be passing horses late who merits a look for Tri and Super bets.
Race 3 – 4YO and Younger NW1 or $9,500 LT
(9) TYMAL RIGGS had plenty of late trot to offer in his debut and he should be on the move earlier here, so he gets the nod. Note he leaves from the second tier due to a late scratch. (6) VICTOR INVICTUS has a similar profile as the choice and he too should improve with a start under his belt. (8) MALCOLM G was passed late by a rival who had a similar lengthy winless streak and he will be in the mix again but hard to love on top if he is a short price. (7) TLF ROYAL LAKE is capable of better. Give him a price look for the exotics.
Race 4 – CLM HDCP $10,000 to $12,000 – Pick 4
(7) TOMY TERROR goes for trainer Fellows off the claim here which continues to be a potent angle and he gets the nod over another racing off the fresh claim (8) REAL WICKED, who is sent out by leading trainer Moreau. (1) MISTER GODRO was sharp racing off the Bako claim and that barn is running hot; using. (5) E L WILD SPIRIT can pass a few of these late and land in the Super.
Race 5 – 5YO and Younger NW2 (F&M3) or $20,000 (F&M $25,000)
I thought (10) CORNERSTONE held on well last time after being used hard early. He should beat these if he can navigate a decent trip starting from the second tier. (6) CHARMBO PRINCE showed some guts down the lane last week and he continues to improve; using. (1) SAVINI should be in the hunt vs. these and he returns quicker here. (8) UP AND TRENDING is obviously sharp, but he may get too far back early here after leaving from an outer post.
Race 6 - NW $11,000 L5 or $24,500 L10 AE: OPT CLM $30,000 - Late Pick 5
(4) ROYAL WITCH was picked off only late as the 1 to 2 choice vs. similar and this is a spot where she has a good chance to lead all the way. (7) WHITE TIGER mixed it up early with a repeat winner and that was a decent effort. He should be right there again. (1) SEEYOU MEN should sit another good trip just behind the leader and he is in with an upset chance here. (5) MR CONTESTANT fits well here, and he should be in the hunt for a share; using on the bottom of Tris and Supers.
Race 7 – HORSES WHO HAVE RACED FOR A PURSE LESS THAN $9,000 IN ONE OF L4 - Pick 4
This is a good spot for (1) TOOT TOOT N and he should get put into play early vs. this group; top call. (2) RACEMUP gets Henry for his return to Mohawk Park. Maybe he can cure his recent bout of seconditis. (5) MAGICAL ALBERT comes in off an impressive score at Flamboro Downs; consider for the exotics. (4) SABINE PASS compiled a nice record out west last year and he isn't over his head vs. these; price look.
Race 8 – NW $16,000 L5 or $29,500 L10 or NW $120,000 LT AE: $40,000
(8) HEY LIVVY trotted her final 3/4 in 1:22 1/5 after she broke at the start last week, so you know she is razor-sharp. Now she needs to stay flat. (4) U NEED STONES showed some grit holding rivals at bay last week. A threepeat isn't out of the question. (3) REFI is capable of better and he should leave quicker here. He could be an interesting price play. (2) FLY BEYOND should be passing a few of these late to land in the Tri or Super.
Race 9 – PREFERRED
(1) P L JILL is just too good right now. If she behaves, she takes another. (7) ON THE ROPES was no match for the choice last week but at least he was passing horses late. He should be an Exacta factor again. (5) ODDS ON AMETHYST is obviously capable of better. Maybe he needs better conditions which he should get tonight. (6) BUZZ improved in his second start back for trainer Auciello and he is worth a look for the bottom of Tris and Supers here.
Race 10 – F&M CLM HDCP $10,000 to $12,000
(7) E R RHONDA was best last week but a lack of flow killed her chances. She was really motoring at the wire and she just needs to get into a live flow here. (9) LUCKY PLAYER elected to tuck when others left hard, then she started her gradual move at the 3/4 pole which affected the choice. A more aggressive try is likely here. (3) RUSTYS FLYING is always a good one to use on the bottom of Tris and she never gets bet. (6) HAMMERING HALEY got the best trip and prevailed late. I prefer to use her underneath here. (8) MISS ROCKADALI had it all her own way last week and she couldn’t seal the deal. I’ll play to beat her here.
