Race 1
(4) MAGIC NIGHT was bought for $57,000 U.S. at The Meadowlands sale in January and he looks to pay some immediate dividends here for the Hensleys; top call. (3) ST JAMES GATE has hit his best stride racing in this class and he should be the one to fend off down the lane. (6) AZUCAR brings great form in from the B tracks and he can leave for good position here and take a share. (7) SO NOT CLOSE is another that seems to like this level and he's not out of this.
Race 2
(4) FOOT SOLDIER was a narrow loser last time then set back to fifth, but he's sharp and he could get the same great trip here; slight nod. (1) BETWEEN THE SHEETS did okay in the Snowshoe series and he seems to fit this class well. I'll use him in the Pick 5 and add (2) REAL WILLEY, who has done well racing out of the Moreau barn. (3) STOLEN ART will be closing as usual and he shouldn't be left off Super bets.
Race 3
(5) QUADRANGLE was out on the rim forever last time, but it didn't matter as he forged past for the win anyway. He gets a better post here, so an improved trip is likely; call to repeat. (6) MONOPOLY was outstanding last week despite having missed time. He will be the one to catch again. (1) PERFETTO was bet like he couldn't lose last time and he didn't disappoint. He's another who can take this with a trip. (7) BEAUTY CUTIE motored home impressively to blow up the tote board last week. These are tougher, but she can sneak into the exotics.
Race 4
(3) SURF REPORT looks for three straight as winter racing seems to agree with him. I'll stick with him while he's hot. (4) TOMY TERROR missed some time due to weather cancelations, but he appears to be the one to knock off racing off the claim here. (8) KWICKY KWANZAA is another that races off the claim, but he is a bit win-shy and I prefer to use him underneath in this spot. (5) ARAZI closed well vs. a winner who came back to repeat on Thursday night. He should be along for at least a slice.
Race 5
(2) BIG RICH tripped out to win last time he raced in this class ad Roy could work out the exact same trip for him in this spot; top call. (5) FLY BEYOND races best for McNair who returns here, and a better showing is expected. (4) CUE HALL should be a danger racing from close range again here. (9) CATCH THE DREAM will likely be far back early but he could hit the Tri or Super using his potent late kick.
Race 6
(7) CROCADILE CANYON goes for the Shepherd barn off the claim here while he is razor-sharp and I'll give him the slight nod over (6) SHOE SHINE, who beat him last week and is the one to catch again. (1) LATE NIGHT should get a good trip leaving from the inside post here; using underneath. (3) REIKI was flying late last week at big odds after enjoying a covered trip. He can share again vs. these.
Race 7
(2) LMC MASS OAK gets protected here following an excellent comeback race vs. claimers. His price should be decent, and I'll give him the nod over (1) HANKS TANK who was futile in pursuit of a very fast winner last time. (7) SETANTA has been racing well when he stays flat and he should be closing for a share here. (9) CAULFIELD's race off the shelf was good chasing a winner that couldn't be touched. He has upset possibilities here.
Race 8
(7) MAJOR MUSCLE won in this class four starts back and he gets McClure here. There's lots to like here. (4) DAYLON MAGICIAN adds Lasix and notice he set the pace for the choice in that December 17th race. I'll use him in the Pick 4 this time with the addition of the medication. (9) EXEMPLAR fired a quick final 1/4 with Roy driving last time and he would be the one to benefit if the race falls apart late. (6) WILD AND CRAZY GUY should be racing close to the front and he's a good one to use underneath.
Race 9
(6) DOVUTO HANOVER is mighty tough racing in claimers and he'll be the one to catch again here with part-owner Drury taking the reins. (3) DOCS SAUSALITO faces the boys racing off the claim, but she's so sharp that she should contend. (4) ROSE RUN RANGER is consistently on the board and usually passing horses in the lane; using underneath. (2) PRINCE GIOVANNI is another who has been very consistent for several weeks in a row that's hard to leave off Tri and Super bets.
Race 10
(3) P L JILL is at the top of her game right now and while she's hot I'll give her the nod over (4) DANCER HALL, who was a narrow loser to her last time. (5) DUNBAR HALL is the other of the big three in here who can win this depending on pace and trip. (2) FREE WILLY HANOVER tries hard every week and he could get a piece of this despite stepping up in class.
Race 11
(7) CLASSIC PRO had a comeback race where he missed getting a check, so he gets to drop to the bottom here. The addition of driver Henry makes me think an aggressive try is coming. (5) OSBORNE SEELSTER is one of few known leavers in here and I'll use him on that basis. (1) ROCKY J SQUIRREL should go better here with the move inside and making his second start for trainer/driver Hudon. (3) MT STERLING MAFIA is another who can improve sharply with post relief. (8) SHADOW MARGEAUX got hung out then broke here Thursday night. He's seen better days but if he can get situated early, he could hit the High-5.
