Race 1
(8) MYSTERY BET was a bit dull last time racing first up on a wet track. I'll give him the nod to bounce back here. (1) ST JAMES GATE could only manage third despite kicking home in 27 4/5. He's in with a good shot here but he's often trip-dependent. (4) ZEUS LIGHTNING should leave closer to the front this time and he's another to consider for Pick 5 bets. (9) WILD AND CRAZY GUY can hit the ticket here and he may be a good price starting from out there.
Race 2
(3) MAJOR COMFORT's race two back was good enough in this class to warrant a close look here, especially when you consider that the horse that won that day came back to easily beat non-winners of two on the class jump. (2) FOX VALLEY RIVIERA and (1) ARNOLDTHEPAPERBOY both were beaten by a well-meant 2 to 5 shot here Thursday and there is no horse in here that looks anywhere as good as that one. I'll use both in the Pick 5. (5) RAMBLINTIME drops back to the maiden class and note that he's a three-time winner. He should wake up with a much better try here.
Race 3
(4) LEGAL BETTOR was airborne late in the mile last week, but he made his move too late He can beat these with a better-timed steer. (3) TRAGICALLY ZIP closes quickly every week it seems, and he should be right there vs. these. (7) THE COLONEL was solid in defeat Thursday night and he will likely look to wire these; using. (5) EASY FLYER is worth a look for the exotics shipping west and adding Lasix.
Race 4
(8) TOMY TERROR looks good to repeat here coming off a sharp win last week. (6) E R QUINN has a good chance to land in the choice's pocket at the start and that makes him a contender here. (2) MCSINNER MAN has developed an effective closing style and he should get on the board vs. these. (3) DARCEE N will most likely finish on the fringes as is his custom for several years now.
Race 5
(7) FLY BEYOND trotted a big mile last week to finish second to the classy P L Jill. He should be tough here if he repeats that effort. (5) MEADOWBRANCH MEMO closed well last week despite the late pace accelerating and he is in with a good chance here. (10) HEY LIVVY shoots for six wins in a row here, but she faces much tougher and draws the worst post; your call. (3) BUZZ may get into early conflict with Hey Livvy and set it up for one of the top two choices here.
Race 6
(1) WIKI HANOVER raced great from the 10-hole Thursday night and if she can reproduce that effort she should beat these. (4) STENHOUSE HANOVER also showed some zip the other night and in a race with little form, I'll use him. (3) BEAUTY CUTIE is capable but erratic. I wouldn't take a short price on her. (2) JUST MAYBE THE ONE should be in contention here for at least a slice if he can stay flat this time.
Race 7
(7) NICKLE BAG should wake up with a drop to the bottom conditioned level here; top call. (6) BETTOR BB has also been facing better while racing out of town and I'd expect him to get involved early vs. these. (3) CARTOON DADDY motored home to just miss last week and he is a logical one to include in the Pick 4s. (5) LONE WOLF TERROR should improve moving to a better post but he is a difficult one to gauge from week-to-week because of his behavioral problems that pop up frequently.
Race 8
(1) ON A SUNNY DAY was good racing in this class last week and she gets white-hot pilot McClure back for this; slight nod. (8) DUNBAR HALL had a rough trip and still just missed. He's hard to leave out. (3) MUSICAL RHYTHM has turned into a bit of a mud lark. Upgrade his chances if the track is wet. (2) DANCER HALL threw in a bit of a clunker last week, but he should bounce back with a better effort starting from an inside post here.
Race 9
(4) SHOE SHINE closed mildly form an outer post Thursday night, but he gets Roy and a better starting slot here; top call. (1) REGAL MAC has been racing great out of town and he should be in the thick of things here. (2) CROCADILE CANYON raced well the other night and the short field should help him here; using. (5) LIVELY FREDDIE was dull first time in Auciello's barn now he returns quickly. I'll tab him for a smaller share.
Race 10
(7) PHIL THE THRILL was given no chance in his comeback race the way he was driven now Filion takes over and he should be better here; slight nod. (8) PAPARAZZI HANOVER was involved in some big fractions racing over a wet track last time. If he can get a breather here, he'll be tough. (9) SOUTHWIND MASIMO raced better the other night and he's worth including in Tris and Supers here. (5) OLLIESTRIKESFAME ships in with decent form and these aren't out of his league; using underneath. (4) SURPRISE HANOVER is usually around the fringes it seems. Expect more of the same here.
