Logan Park stopped the clock in 1:50 3/5 in Tuesday's C$42,000 Free For All at Woodbine Mohawk Park to set a new Canadian record for an older male trotter. The 5-year-old gelding scored a 5 1/2 length victory over five rivals to set the new mark. The time broke the previous standard of 1:50 4/5 set by Mister Herbie (2012) and matched by Musical Rhythm (2019), Guardian Angel As (2019) and Locatelli (2022). Doug McNair guided Logan Park to victory for trainer Des Tackoor and owners Outofthepark Stable, Reg Higgs and Arpad Szabo. He has been a stable star for the Fellows barn, posting 18 career victories and earnings of over C$850,000. The Free For All contest saw HP Mama B shoot out to the lead, posting a 27 second opening quarter. Logan Park moved out from third early in the backstretch, marching to the lead at the half in 56 1/5. The 1-5 favorite then posted a 27 1/5 third quarter to get to three-quarters in 1:23 2/5 before powering home in 27 1/5 for the record mile. Patriarch Hanover finished second, while Perfetto edged HP Mama B for third. Tokyo Seelster trotted an opening quarter of 26 seconds flat, the fastest opening quarter ever trotted at Woodbine Mohawk Park.
