Woodbine Mohawk Park: Jody Jamieson registers 9,000th driving triumph

Driver Jody Jamieson added reaching the milestone of 9,000 lifetime wins to his already impressive resume by capturing Sunday night's third race at Woodbine Mohawk Park with Blast Of Sunshine.

Blast Of Sunshine, a 6-year-old stallion by Sunshine Beach, led to the quarter in 27 2/5 before he yielded to sit behind Outlawgrandetorino (James MacDonald) prior to the 56 1/5 half. After he stalked that foe to three-quarters in 1:25 4/5, Blast Of Sunshine and Jamieson rallied back into the top spot in the lane before they pulled clear to tally by 2 1/4 lengths in 1:55 2/5.

Jamieson, a three-time recipient of Canada's Driver of the Year Award, celebrated his 49th birthday last month and is only four victories away from his first 200-win season since 2018. His drives have earned C$5,074,989 in 2025 and C$157,315,696 overall.
