Thursday, September 8
STORMONT MOLLY (NW2) filly saved to the final turn, tipped out, rallied gamely but hit her best stride too late and just missed.
MOMAS SON BYRNE (CLM15000) was parked the mile, challenged to the third panel and drew off in amazing romp and should be the one to beat in next.
NO TURNING BACK (NW1) went down the road in game effort at 10-1 and was nailed on the wire. Do not overlook in next.
WHAT AN ANGEL (NW1) 2YO showed some late rally to get up for second best over a well rated down the road favorite and could surprise.
Friday, September 9
MY BABY GIRL (POPUP) well-bet second choice sat to the back, raced third over with good late foot and was second best at the end.
DEWITT FOR JOSIE (OntSS) was out the mile, grinded uncovered, tired but dug in to hold for third as the winner pulled away.
CAPTAIN VIDEO (NW3800) beaten favorite was parked the mile challenging all the way. Almost cleared a couple of times but could not.
HARPERS HAT TRICK (NW3800) was pressed the entire mile by the parked-out favorite. Shook that one off by the lane, then held dead game as he battled off a much fresher inside challenge. Such a game effort deserves a mention and perhaps he can do it again.
MIA CULPA (NW6700FM) trailed to the final turn, got bothered badly early stretch, finished strongest once settled and earns a long look in next.
Saturday, September 10
POWERTRAIN (NW18000) was nowhere to the lane, wheeled wide, hit the speed button and just missed in fast finish in fast race.
GRACE HILL (MILTON) favorite rallied wide with late move, closed a ton to win going away.
MAPPOS LION (OPEN/HCP) closed strongly between horses getting third place but missing the top by only a half.
COMMANDING OFFICER (NW6000) tucked early, brushed to the half and drew off.
Monday, September 12
FORBIDDEN TRADE (OPEN/HCP) wired the field on a night speed was faltering and should be hard to beat in next.
PLAY JET RAY (CLMHCP22/30000) tucked, brushed, got away and was ahead by tons but broke. Beaten favorite could atone in next race or two.
HERESTHATMANAGAIN (CLMHCP22/30000) was far back when the open-lengths leader broke, finished strong and settled for second in latest.
SCRIBBLERS (OntSS) sat at the back until the final turn, came wide, hit stride and finished full of pace and bears watching.
Tuesday, September 13
CARDIO MUSCLE (NW1/2YO) beaten favorite went down the road to the last step getting nailed by the pocket-sitting well-bet second favorite. The rest of the field was far back.
HEART OF DIXIE (NW1) all out winning favorite set the pace on an open lead, had five lengths heading home, tired but was never in doubt.
ARMSTEAD COLE (OntSS) chased the ever money winner home and was second best at over 7-1.
DREAM NATION (NW20000) trotter tucked early, pulled uncovered at the third panel, put in a :26 3/5 last panel and nailed the win in the last steps.
Not the best of trip but the gamest of efforts.
