Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from September 6 - September 11

Ken Walters|Sep 12, 2018

Thursday, September 6

AMERICAN MUSIC (NW2) tucked, sat in getting shuffled badly, angled through traffic with some rally and should not be ignored.

BRIARWOOD BELLE (2YOF) was parked to the lead, yielded to pressure, retook, met pressure and tired at 11-1. Can do better with an easier trip.

BELLA PALAZZO (CLMHCP12/15000) closed stroutly from the back of the pack and won going away.

AMBERS SHADOW (NW1FM) chased uncovered, tucked the open pocket, rallied gamely through the lane cutting into the leader's margin but just missed at 23-1.

Friday, September 7

LUKA SHENKO (OntSS) beaten favorite was in the pocket and cleared too late to launch his best shot.

ELLA CHRISTINA (NW16000FM) finished full of pace from a distant 4th over in latest.

PRETTY HANDSOME (OntSS) went to the lead, met some mild pressure, shook it off and drew away.

AMERICAN SARA (NW7000FM) finished strong from third over and just missed. Beaten favorite will be hard to deny in next.

Saturday, September 8

REDONKULOUS (CD) left from post 8, finished strong from the back of the pack and should improve with better post or better trip.

AVALANCHE HANOVER (NW7500) tucked early, got shuffled, rallied gamely for 2nd to the pacesetting favorite.

GREEN MANALISHI S (WELLWOOD) was an impressive front-stepping winner in his elim and will be hard to beat.

ASAP HANOVER (NW11000) had the pocket, pulled early to the top, set a quick clip crushing his foes and the variant.

Monday, September 9

BARNEY MAC (OntSS) closed a ton from an impossible spot and won going away.

OSBORNE SEELSTER (NW5000) was the only front-stepping winner on the 12-race card and as such earns a strong mention.

CHEDDAR BAY (2YO) closed strongly but was outkicked by the late-closing favorite.

VEYRON (NW3) was on the front end throughout but tired late.

Tuesday, September 11

DUNBAR HALL (PRF) was outkicked to the early lead, got shuffled, got locked in through the lane, cleared very late and should get a luckier trip in next.

BUELLER (OntSS) was following the winner through the lane looking to slide wide or duck in but had problems either side, kept coming and just missed with late clearance.

SPLURGE ON ME (OntSS) was a handy wire-to-wire winner in latest and will be hard to best in next if she can give same effort.

AMERICAN PAGEANT (OntSS) sat to the lane, tipped into the lane and finished with a rush to nail it at 22-1.
