Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from Sept. 28 - Oct. 2
?q=100)
Thursday, September 28
MIST AMBER (OntSS) closed best of all from third over but ran out of track.
HILLBILLY JET (CLMHCP15/18000FM) tucked to the quarter, came uncovered, challenged the final quarter but was second best to her pacesetting stablemate.
HIGHLAND HOT SAUCE (NW1) left well, settled for the early pocket, got shuffled when the winner brushed, got stuck behind the tiring pocket horse in the final turn, tipped and angled wide, hit stride mid lane and got up for 3rd.
SNAKE EYES HANOVER (CLMHCP15/18000FM) was an impressive wire-to-wire winner in last and should be hard to beat again.
Friday, September 29
VALUABLE MISS (OntSS) beaten favorite lagged early, rallied late, gained too late and could atone in next.
SUNSHINE SALLY (W2-4FM) took the lead, yielded, sat pocket, tipped into the lane, had a moment of traffic as leader and challenger both drifted. Might have had better luck if she had stayed on the rail.
WILLYS HOME RUN (OntSS) prohibitive favorite brushed to the lead heading to the half and was a handy winner. Granted the price indicated she was much the best but the track was tiring and she did not flinch.
MY HOLEY MOLEY (NW15000) closed from the moon as the speed collapsed and was second at over 60-1 in latest.
ZEBS BREAKING DAWN (NW2FM) tucked past the quarter, pulled uncovered to the half, challenged, had aim but tired. Do not ignore in next race or two.
Saturday, September 30
SOUTHSIDE EDDY (NW23500) set a quick clip and was much the best.
SERIOUSLY HANOVER (NW8000) sat the rail, finished full of pace through the lane.
STOP THE SHOOTIN (NW14000) just missed in fast finish at over 85-1.
ROCKABILLY REBEL N (PRF) was third over and just missed in last time around the oval and bears watching.
Monday, October 2
MACHIN A TRICK (CLMHCP12/16000) finished full of pace from nowhere and was second best on the board and on the track. Got claimed and should come out firing.
WHITE TIGER (NW15000) yielded, retook and was an impressive winner in latest.
GOSTLY CASPER (OntSS) raced uncovered and dug in gamely but was second best to the odds-on favorite.
BOLT POWER (COND) left, yielded and was shuffled, sat in traffic through the lane and never got to show his best.
