Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from Sept. 16 - Sept. 21

Ken Walters|Sep 23, 2021

Thursday, September 16

NEVER MIND (NW3000) tucked early, raced uncovered and challenged but was second best to the pacesetter.

DILLY TARYN (NW1FM) tipped in the final turn and charged home at 50-1 getting up for third.

SPORTS FAN (OntSS) tucked early, sat to the lane, angled and won going away passing a slew of stretch foes.

MAPPOS LION (NW2) was used hard to the lead, set a pressed pace and drew off in impressive romp and can take another.

Friday, September 17

GOT SEXY SCARS (OntSS) yielded and was shuffled but had lots of stretch traffic and never had a chance.

LYONS SENTINEL (MILTON) won going away and will be hard to hold off next time out.

TWIN B TIPSTER (NW9000FM) closed strongly from second over to earn second place at 40-1.

ALWAYS WATCHING (OntSS) tucked, saved, improved heading home into the pocket but lacked racing room when needed.

Saturday, September 18

DREAMFAIRE MOXY (NW5400) sat to the rear, rallied in the lane but ran into traffic and cleared too late to give his best shot at over 25-1 and bears watching.

LETTS GET PICKLED (NW8000) tucked and sat in, tried to rally between horses but traffic was tight.

POINTS NORTH (NW16500) tucked and brushed and dug in but got nailed late.

MACHNHOPE (NW25000FM) was parked to the top and won handily in down the road effort.

Monday, September 20

HARRY (OntSS) beaten favorite had cover but lost ground wide late in the final turn, finished strongly but the front-stepping winner had opened up a few heading home.

BEACH GLASS (2YO) rushed up uncovered with a purpose, won going away while drifting a bit in the lane but will be tough to stop in next.

DAY TO PARTY (OntSS) yielded twice, got shuffled, had traffic in the lane, angled clear late and ran out of track.

DEWITT FOR JOSIE (OntSS) tucked, brushed, yielded and was shuffled, cleared much too late to fire her shot. Beaten favorite was one of a few horses in the race with numerous lead changes and stretch traffic problems and can atone.

Tuesday, September 21

COME ROLL WITH ME (NW2FM) was parked to the top, yielded for the pocket, got in tight late in the final turn trying to pull, ducked back to the pocket and broke. Beaten favorite deserves another look in next.

RAYS KREDIT (CLMHCP22/30000) sat to the rear, rallied with good pace between foes over the sloppy track and was gaining on the tiring winner.

TAKE COMMAND (2YO) finished with good trot from third over and earns a long look in next race or two.

HALLSGLENMAVIS (CLMHCP13/18000FM) was parked to a tuck, pulled uncovered to the third panel, took aim but was second best.

REVOLT (NW3000) trailed to the final turn, went wide and closed in steadily while drifting a bit through the sloppy stretch. Beaten favorite should be luckier in next and might atone.
