Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from October 11 - October 16

Ken Walters|Oct 17, 2018

Thursday, October 11

COOL CLIFFORD (HARVEST) tucked twice en route to solid second best to the well-bet pacesetting favorite.

TIKI TAKA (CLMHCP12/15000) tucked early, pulled early, challenged the pace to the lane, got a short lead but was nailed by the late-closing pocket-sitting favorite.

MAGICS LUCKY CHARM (NW2FM) late-closing beaten favorite just missed and can atone in quick order.

ALONA (NW2FM) rushed up fast, loomed uncovered, flattened out. A better timed move gets it done.

Friday, October 12

SETANTA (NW3000) set the pace, met pressure when the favorite pulled the pocket, battled stubbornly in game second best effort.

TWENTY THREE RED (NW7000FM) was an impressive uncovered going away winner in last and should be tough to beat in next.

REQUEST FOR PAROLE (NW11000FM) beaten favorite came uncovered, challenged and dug in but was no match for the huge late kick of the second favorite who roared home from the moon--or so it appeared.

WALTER MITTY (NW5000) rushed to the top, set a pressed pace at 15-1. Shook off the challenge but was nailed by the second-over tripped-out winner.

Saturday, October 13

HES A SENSATION (NW11000) finished late, wide and fast in solid effort at 17-1.

TRACEUR HANOVER (NW25000) put in a solid down the road effort under pressure the last half and tired.

KWIK TALKIN (NW11000) charged through the lane to outkick the tripped-out pocket-sitting favorite and would be no surprise in next.

ALWAYS A HOTSHOT (NW17000) went down the road under pressure the last quarter and got nailed by the pocketsitter.

Monday, October 15

FLASH A SMILE (HARVEST) tucked early, got badly shuffled, finished willingly and could get luckier in next.

TREASURED TEE (NW3) burshed and crushed and looked like their could be another win in store.

JUSTABIT MEAN (NW3200FM) rallied strong but late and would be no suprise.

TIGERS WAY (NW2650) closed wide with huge kick and might do it again.

Tuesday, October 16

FREE WILLY HANOVER (NW29500) yielded and retook, rallied gamely at 28-1 but got nipped on the wire.

ARRIVAL (NW2FM) trailed throughout, followed a wide flow into the lane and finished fast but ran out of track.

A BOY NAMED SUUZZZ (CLMHCP18/25000) tipped into the lane with strong finish but had too far to come.

REAL WILLEY (CLMDCP15/20000) trailed in short field, had some traffic in the lane, rallied late on the inside and bears watching.

ST JAMES GATE (NW12500) finished full of trot from an impossible spot in last.
