Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from Oct. 7 - Oct. 11

Ken Walters|Oct 14, 2021

Thursday, October 7

VALI HANOVER (NW2) showed some good late foot in last and bears warching.

POWERFUL SPIRIT (NW3) sat to the rear, rallied late hitting best stride late to nail it.

DEAL WITH LUCAS (NW1) tucked early, tipped in the final turn and closed stoutly to win going away.

LENIS (2YO) was caught long a long way and flattened chasing the two favorites in the lane.

BETTORS VICTORY (CLMHCP17500) left to the top, yielded for the pocket and was a game second at nearly 10-1.

Friday, October 8

MAPPOS LION (NW3) was parked to the lead as the prohibitive favorite but that was the only drama as he wired the field with handy score.

SPORTY TORI (NW15000FM) tucked early and was shuffled, rallied late through traffic and earns a look in next.

BET ON BECKY (NW6000FM) closed a ton with huge rally to win going away in most recent score.

LYONS TILT HANOVER (NW26500FM) finished in a wicked :25 last panel to get up for third in last race.

SETTN A PRECEDENT (NW5FM) finished best of all but had a long way to come. Beaten favorite can atone with a better trip.

Saturday, October 9

REAL SURREAL (NW13000) finished with good pace between horses chasing the strong closing favorite's going-away rally.

DESPERATE MAN (NW26000) got off slowly, raced at the back, rallied stoutly but too late from 4th over and bears watching.

DEAN B HANOVER (NW13000) beaten favorite followed cover chasing the fast-moving speedy pacesetter, finished full of pace and just missed.

REAL WILLEY (NW8000) had much too far to come but just missed the tiring pace-setting favorite.

BEYOND BETTER (NW26000) was in between horses in the stretch and cleared a bit too late to launch his best bid.

Monday, October 11

ROSIE WAR BONDS (NW2) left well, took the lead, yielded for the pocket and had trouble clearing when needed through the lane.

JUST CALL ME SONG (2YOF) tucked past the quarter, pulled at the half, rallied uncovered in game effort splitting the two favorites at the wire to be second.

ALL CHEDDAR (CLMHCP22/30000) closed well from 2nd over and got claimed. Should be able to return immediate dividends.

REFI (NW12000) closed full of trot from third over to come up short a bit at the end in last outing.
