Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from November 1 - November 5
Thursday, November 1
JUST JEWEL (NW2) was nowhere to the third panel, started moving, rallied strong through the lane and ran out of track. Should be able to find a winning trip.
STORMONT CHARLOTTE (NW4FM) was in the pocket, cut some cones the final turn to earn a DQ, had nowhere to go through the lane trying to rally between horses and deserves a look in next race or two.
D M JOHNWICK (NW2) tucked early, pulled to the half, got stung going to the lead, met pressure once on the engine and tired. Should find a better trip soon.
VEYRON (NW5) went down the road on an impossible night for frontsteppers and shoud be able to take another.
Friday, November 2
BUTTERMILK HANOVER (NW115000FM) two back he was used on the front end. This time he sat to the rear and closed strong to miss by two necks. He has what it takes and should not be discounted.
ONLY ONE STAR (NW3FM) closed well from second over and just missed. Should get it done in next race or two.
KENDALL SEELSTER (PRFFM) won going away with big finish from the moon on a night when speed was winning every other race.
PHANTOM SEELSTER (HARVEST) took the top, yielded, got shuffled, pulled and brushed crushing his foes.
Saturday, November 3
AMERICAN WIGGLE (PRF) came wide from second over, battled gamely to the last step at 37-1 getting nipped on the wire.
QUEENOFTHEJUNGLE (NW3000FM) was forced wide to the half, got parked, chased uncovered, took a lead into the lane at 8-1, could not stall the pocket sitting favorite's winner's late rush but was second best.
AMERICAN SARA (NW7000FM) favorite was third over behind a gapper, exploded home from way back and got it all.
BEYOND DELIGHT (NW7500) sat in buried to the lane, closed gamely and should be considered in next.
Monday, November 5
SHADOW WORLD (HARVEST) came wide, carried very wide in game rally through the lane. A better trip closer to the pace could be enough.
BUZZ (NW13000) blasted home from the back of the pack at 18-1 and earns a look in next race or two.
LYONS HEDGEABET (HARVEST) beaten favorite was parked to the top and hounded throughout but a determined second choice, shook her off but could not last. Can get back on track quickly if not pushed so hard.
REEL (CD) left, tucked, sat to the lane, tipped with game rally but was outfinished. Do not ignore.
