Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from Nov. 25 - Nov. 29

Ken Walters|Dec 02, 2021

Thursday, November 25

CATCH AN ACE (POPUP) sat on the rail to the lane in second start since her return, angled out and closed a bit late.

BIG MYRTLE (POPUP) sat to the rear in her return, rallied wide and late and will be tighter in next race or two.

FURIOSA (POPUP) tucked into the turn, got shuffled to the three hole and was backed up by tiring pocket horse in the final turn, rallied gamely in the lane to get up for second and bears watching.

SUPERLATIVE (POPUP) broke at the start and sat far back, put in a strong last panel passing a bunch of foes to just miss getting up for second.

Friday, November 26

A BOY NAMED SUUZZ (CLMHCP12/18000) seemed to be taking a tour of the track until the final turn, rushed up and charged home to be second best in the photo and on the board.

WINDSUN SHIREZ (NW1FM) had stretch problems, angled clear with solid late move to be clearly second best.

SONIC FLARE (CLM17500) beaten favorite made a costly break, took back to the rear but finished strong. Should atone in next race or two.

TRAFALGAR (NW9000FM) brushed the final turn to win going away and may take another with similar move.

Saturday, November 27

LETS GET PICKLED (NW8000) was 3rd over behind a gapping horse, rallied wide and closed well to earn a look in next.

SNOW SHARK (NW25000FM) closed strong and ran out of track in latest.

COLD CREEK CABO (NW16000) tipped in the final turn and rolled by to win by open lengths and can take another.

CHANTEE (NW6) finished strong but too late between horses in last.

Monday, November 29

CENTURY GIANNA (CLMHCP8/12000FM) was parked a long way challenging the pacesetting favorite and tired. Should find a better time/place for such an effort.

THRILLING TIMES (POPUP) put in a just miss wire to wire try in last at nearly 8-1 and deserves a long look.

HP ROYAL THEO (NW7) was the only front-stepping winner on the card after being used hard to the lead and should score again soon.

CHIEFS BEACH (CLMHCP22/30000) beaten favorite set a good clip putting a wicked third panel but could not last. Do not ignore.
