Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from Nov. 10 - Nov. 14

Thursday, November 10
NOOTKA (NW1FM) broke before the start, settled at the back of the pack, made a big move approaching the third panel, rallied into contention and battled gamely to nail the prohibitive favorite on the wire.
HIGH ROLLING (CLMHCP12/15000FM) closed well following the pocket-sitting favorite's uncovered move into the lane and was easily second best.
BARRETT HANOVER (NW1/2-3YO) tucked to the quarter, brushed to the half as the speed settled and was a handy winner. Two-year-old looked like he can take another.
WOODMERE FENN (CLM15/18000) closed fast from third over and was just short at 25-1.
Friday, November 11
NEED TO BREATHE (NW18000FM) got shuffled badly the last turn, angled out, found room and charged home in a wicked :26 3/5 last panel to earn a long look in next.
SHOWME SOME MUSCLE (NW3300) trotter sat in to the lane, finished with a full head of steam between horse to get up for 3rd at 25-1.
QUEEN OF SOUL (HARVEST) was parked the mile, grinded up, accelerated to the third call, challenged the odds-on pacesetter, put her away but tired.
BAD ROSSA (NW2100FM) left to the rear, rallied strong from 4th over at 50-1 and missed by only a head.
Saturday, November 12
GRAND POOBAH (NW3000) well-bet second choice was parked the mile challenging all the way, dug in gamely but was second best to the fast-closing favorite.
UNCONTROLLABLE (W3-6) made a bold move into the lane, battled to the late stages but tired at 80-1 to be second best to the well-bet second choice.
THATLL BE SPORTY (NW6000) rushed up behind fast moving cover of the brushing favorite, had to race uncovered as the lead changed, challenged to the wire but was second in the photo to the favorite.
NO FREE LUNCH (NW19000) rushed up wide into the lane, battled the favorite but was second best in the photo and on the board despite the :26 2/5 last quarter.
Monday, November 14
SIMCOE SEELSTER (NW3) had poor cover, closed stoutly and won going away. Should be in the hunt once more.
LEGAL BETTOR (CLMHCP22/30000) had too far to come but passed a bunch of foes en route to 3rd place finish.
UNIQUE BEACH (CLMHCP15/20000) sat in streth traffic, cleared late and got up quickly for second place.
THUNDERING JIM (CLMHCP8/10000) put in a down the road effort, drifted through the lane but dug in gamely to come up a neck short. Beaten favorite was claimed and should not be overlooked.
