Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from May 23 - May 27

Ken Walters|May 30, 2019

Thursday, May 23

HES A SENSATION (NW3000) made a huge rally from an impossible spot to win going away.

BLUE MAGIC (NW2) tucked early, pulled and rallied to the leader, challenged to the lane, dug in but tired. Beaten favorite should not be ignored in next race or two.

NAGLE (NW1) challenged the favorite with brave uncovered effort but was second best.

OKEANOS (NW2) was second best on the board, sat to the rear, came wide from the back and closed with solid trot narrowing the margin to the far-ahead winner.

Friday, May 24

L WEATHER B (CLMHCP15/18000) finished strong from third over and should be remembered next outing or two.

ROYAL RENEGADE (CLMHCP18/25000) tucked to the quarter, pulled past the half, challenged, took a lead in the lane but was nailed by quick finish of the the pocket-sitting winner.

DOUBLE A MINT (PRF/FM) left to the top, yielded and sat pocket second best at every call to prohibitive pacesetting winner and should find a winning spot.

KLOOF STREET (NW25000FM) left, took the top, yielded, sat pocket but cleared a few steps too late losing her best chance.

Saturday, May 25

CROFT BAY (NW7500) was nowhere to be seen at the third panel but made a huge move and finished full of pace to just miss in last.

OH K MAN (NW7500) rushed home from the back of the pace in big finish last out and earns a long look in next.

SPRINGBRIDGEVISION (NW4FM) flew through the stretch picking them off one by one and scored impressively.

CENTURY FARROH (OntSS) left to the top, yielded, got shuffled, brush and crushed.

Monday, May 27

COSTANTINO (NW3000) left, tucked, came uncovered, and challenged, had aim at 22-1 but was nailed by the late-closing odds-on favorite.

PHANTOM SEELSTER (NW5000) got parked the mile, challenged the pace to the lane, had aim but tired. Better trip should get him home in time.

CATCH THE DREAM (NW10000) brushed as the speed settled, took over and proved much the best.

FREE WILLY HANOVER (NW29500) came uncovered the last quarter, put the speed away and had aim but was nailed by the second-over favorite.
