Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from May 2 - May 6

Ken Walters|May 08, 2019

Thursday, May 2

BALDER SON (NW2) was bothered at the start, rallied and tucked, pulled to the half, brushed to the top, held gamely but was nailed by the pocket horse.

PRICELESS BEACH (NW1) was parked past the half to gain control, met pressure, resisted and drew off in the lane at 18-1 in impressive score.

SUNNY DEE (NW2FM) romped in wire to wire crusher and will win again.

OUTLAW GUNPOWDER (CLMHCP8/10000) tucked to the quarter, pulled to the half, raced 3rd over and got up for second to the pacesetting favorite and earns a long look in next.

Friday, May 3

AINT THREE OK (NW11000FM) finished strongest but late from third over and will be tough with better trip.

FOX VALLEY B GUMP (CLM15000) closed gamely from second over and just missed.

ONLY ONE STAR (CLMHCP10/15000FM) tucked to the quarter, brushed to the third panel and gutted it out but was nipped in the last steps.

BARN ONE (CLMHCP15/18000) rallied best of all but had too far to come.

Saturday, May 4

WEATHERLY (NW3000) left well, yielded, got shuffled, pulled, brushed to the lead and was a handy winner.

CANADIAN PHAROH (NW7500) took the top, yielded and sat pocket at 9-1 with game finish but a half short.

DRAGON STRIKER (NW5) yielded the lead, sat pocket to the odds-on favorite and was second best at every call at 17-1.

CASIMIR RICHIE P (NW23500) followed wide and closed well in solid effort.

Monday, May 6

MAJOR MUSCLE (NW12000) was loose on the lead as the second choice and proved second best when the favorite rallied strongest through the lane.

JIMMY BE GOOD (CLMHCP18/25000) tucked to the quarter, lost some steps avoiding a breaker, tucked around trouble and rallied with good pace but had too far to come. Beaten favorite should be luckier in next.

MAGICAL WINNER K (NW2) was parked a long way to the lead and was an impressive front-stepping winner.

SHES GOT PIZAZZ (NW7) tucked to the quarter, pulled heading home and closed well at 33-1 to get up for 2nd.
