Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from March 28 - April 1

Ken Walters|Apr 03, 2019

Thursday, March 28

SAUBLE DELIGHTFUL (NW1FM) sat to the rear, followed poor cover and closed strongly in game but late effort.

TRAGICALLY ZIP (NW2) rolled along on an open lead and was much the best.

KNOPFLER (NW1) left, settled in the pocket, took a precautionary peek passing the half, settled back, tipped to the third panel and scored handily.

NOAHS MILL (NW3000) was never in double in front end romp and should be hard to beat in next.

Friday, March 29

WESTERN PHIL (CLMHCP8/10000) went down the road on a big lead and never looked back.

FRANSCHOEK (NW3700FM) left, tucked, came uncovered, challenged, tired but stayed tough to earn a second-place check.

BUTTERMILK HANOVER (NW11000FM) challenged uncovered and was a game second best to the pacesetting favorite.

IDL GEM (CLMHCP8/12000) beaten favorite was parked a long way uncovered challenging hard and tired.

Saturday, March 30

WALTER MITTY (NW3000) put in strong down the road effort in the rain last time out only to get caught in the last steps.

ALEXAS JACKPOT (NW5000) left and tucked, pulled to the half, challenged uncovered, had aim but was nailed on the wire. Beaten favorite should not be overlooked in next.

ON THE SLY (NW7000) made three moves and won going away in latest.

SPEED TO MARKET (NW3) finished strong from a distant 3rd over to just miss in last outing and get a long look in next.

Monday, April 1

P L JILL (PRF) was second over following poor cover and raging with trot, got her chance when tipped wide and closed a ton to nail it late.

CROCADILE CANYON (CLMHCP12/15000) won again in front end romp and gave no inidcation he can't do it again.

MISTER GODRO (CLMHCP12/15000) got going late but was in a poor outer flow, ducked in for the drive, showed good rally chasing a monster and had to alter course late. Do not ignore in next.

LISVINNIE (CLMHCP18/25000) veteran was parked the mile uncovered, chasing a good clip and dug in very game while tiring.
