Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from June 6 - June 11

Ken Walters|Jun 13, 2019

Thursday, June 6

SOUTHWIND PRIMA (NW1FM) closed strong between horses in a quick :26 3/5 and missed but should get'er done soon.

DOMINUM DUO (CLMHCP12/15000) made a strong uncovered bid, took the lead, opened but faltered late. Same move nails the win in most efforts.

BARN ONE (CLMHCP15/18000) exploded home with wide rally from the far reaches of the galaxy in last and wins another soon.

OK KUDO (NW1) broke before the start, settled back far, far away, rallied steadily, closed the gap but was still last at the third call, came wide and closed well to earn a look in next race or two.

Friday, June 7

CARSONS SHADOW (NW3) was third over into the lane and closed stoutly but had too far to come and should be a major factor in next.

PILOTS DISCRETION (GOODTIMES) was parked a long way to the lead but that was his only problem as he whipped his foes in impressive elim romp.

SAINT ALBRAY (NW20500FM) beaten favorite tucked early, tipped to the half, came uncovered, challenged and took the lead in the lane but was outkicked by the second over well bet second choice.

RACEMUP (CLMHCP18/28000) battled tough uncovered at 25-1, put away the odds on winner but was nailed by the late-closing second choice and earns some respect in next race or two.

Saturday, June 8

DREAMFAIR B J (NW5000) went down the road and held well in quick time and may take another.

VELOCITY DRIVEN (NW5000) rushed home in a wicked :25 last panel in last and bears watching.

DE LOS CIELOS DEO (NACUP) finished wide and fast in his elim and earns a long look.

POINTOMYGRANSON (NW7500) took a lead, yielded, got shuffled, pulled, brushed and was a handy winner.

Monday, June 10

MACALLAN (NW1) put it into overdrive through the lane and nailed in the last steps with the big finish and can take another.

QUATRAIN BLUE CHIP (NW2) came wide around poor cover and rallied strongly but was nipped in the last step. Beaten favorite can atone quickly.

ROYAL ESTEEM (NW2) raced uncovered and loomed in the final turn but got very rough and struggled through the lane. Beaten favorite will be tough if she stays flat.

RUN DIRECTOR (NW26500) winning favorite was on the lead throughout, battled with the well-bet second choice and drew off through stretch.

Tuesday, June 11

LADY MAYA (NW2FM) was buried to the lane and searched for room at 50-1 finding it too late to get going.

TARRYN A STRIP (NW2) tucked, looked for room in the lane, cleared much too late.

SUNSHINEATTHEBEACH (NW1FM) raced 4th over and rallied gamely to just miss.

NO ORDINARY MAN (NW1) went to the lead, yielded for the pocket, pulled to challenge and rolled by in very fast finish in a very fast mile.
