Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from July 11 - July 16
?q=100)
Thursday, July 11
LITE UP THE WORLD (NW1/2YO) tucked, brushed and was a handy front-stepping winner in good time.
ACEFORTYFOUR BELLA (NW1FM) sat to the rear, rallied with good pace from 4th over and would be no surprise.
TWIN B FLING (NW2) saved to the lane, had some traffic to the late stages but closed with trot once clear. Do not disregard.
EXQUISITE TASTE (OntSS) yielded for the pocket and edged by confidently in quick effort.
Friday, July 12
COLD SNAPS (W2-4) had poor cover but closed a ton to just miss at the end.
HAY DAD (OntSS) well-bet second choice broke before and after the start, settled nearly 20 lengths back, closed the gap from the half to the third panel, finished strong and got up for 2nd passing a slew of foes including the favorite.
COCO JO JO (W2-5FM) was pacing up a storm through the lane and ran out of track.
VILLEFRANCHE AS (NW20000) left, grabbed the lead, yielded to the favorite's retake and was second best at every call.
Saturday, July 13
PREMIER FIRST STAR (NW2) tucked, sat in, looked for room through the lane, finally found it and just missed at 23-1.
SOMETIME SOMEWHERE (NW14000) followed wide into the lane from an impossible spot and showed good pace. Last was a near-miss from back of the pack. A better trip will be quite helpful.
STOCKADE SEELSTER (NW24750) tucked around slow leavers, pulled near the half, made a bold uncovered rally, pressed the pace to the lane before tiring. A better-timed move might be enough.
HES IN CONTROL (COND) followed the wide flow into the lane with good finish and might get luckier in next.
STONEBRIDGE THRILL (NW2) was wide into the lane and put up a :25 4/5 last panel.
Monday, July 15
ALL GAS NO BRAKES (COND) tucked the pocket, looked hard to hold when the action started, got caught in traffic. Beaten favorite should not be ignored.
NORTH OF NINE (OntSS) tipped into the final turn from the back of the pack, closed best of all and just missed in solid effort.
SAFE CONDUCT (W4-6) saved to the final turn, slipped out, hit his best stride just a bit late.
POINTS NORTH (NW4250) was parked to the lead, set a good clip, was kept busy in the lane and held the open-length margin with no doubt.
Tuesday, July 16
EARTHA K (OntSS) was second over behind poor cover and bothered by the breaker late in the final turn, recovered and flashed some good late speed.
COVER BAND (NW1/2YO) sat last to the half, motored up to the third panel, raced third over and closed with good trot to get up for 3d to the two favorites.
SHOW ME THE GREEN (OntSS) finished well from third over and could improve for next.
TELLERS CHOICE (OntSS) yielded, got shuffled, had a bunch of stretch traffic, altered course, took a bad step but never cleared. Could be the one in next outing.
CHANTILLY (OntSS) rushed up uncovered, challenged the leader to the lane and was a solid handy winner.
