Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from Feb. 23 - Feb. 27

Thursday, February 23
BUSY MAKING MONI (NW2) rallied wide around cover in the final turn and roared by leaving all in the dust.
DEVILS ARCH (NW1) sat in traffic stuck in the pocket and freed too late.
BAD EYE BILL (CLMHCP7/8000) sat pocket with aim but was held at bay by the favored front-stepping winner. The rest of the field was far back. Can get it done in next.
FURIOSA (CLM7000FM) brushed when the speed settled, took the lead and never looked back. Same effort can beat better if she steps up.
L A WOMAN (CLMHCP12/15000) finished strong and just missed the even money favorite at the wire.
Friday, February 24
DOC HOUSTON (CLMHCCP15/18000) made a late house call from nowhere at 40-1 in latest and was second best.
DARKRSHADEOFPALE (NW4000FM) rushed home from the back on the pace in last effort to get up for third and would be no surprise.
BUTTERFLY KISSES (COND/FM) sat in third on the rail, cleared when the winning pocket horse got through and accelerated when asked to be second best. Do not ignore.
STEWS WATCHING (CLMHCP15/18000) left, yielded, got shuffled, came uncovered and was a handy winner putting away the co-favored pacesetter.
JM BETONSIX (NW4000FM) tucked, sat on the rail to the lane, pulled into stretch traffic and flattened out. Beaten favorite can atone with better trip.
Saturday, February 25
BAYFIELD BEACH (NW14000) sat to the lane, tipped, bulled wide, finished strong and just missed but was taken down. Should not be ignored.
JJ XAVIER (NW2) took a pocket tuck, pulled quickly and went to the top and was an impressive winner.
JET ROCK (NW4000) was buried on the rail, angled out, found room late and closed well.
POINTS NORTH (NW24500) tipped in the final turn, finished fast and ran out of track.
Monday, February 27
JIM STRIKESITRICH (CLMHCP11/14000) closed strongly from 2nd over to win going away over the snowy surface.
ARUKIDINME CABBIE (CLMHCP22/30000) tucked to the quarter, appeared ready to go at any moment and moved quickly when asked and that was that.
DRAGON ENERGY (COND) showed some late gameness to nailed second at over 20-1.
P L OPPORTUNITY (NW14300) trotter closed well at over 40-1 and should not be ignored.
