Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from August 26 - August 31

Ken Walters|Sep 02, 2021

Thursday, August 26

MOTOVATION (NW2/2YOF) rallied late between horses with strong finish and bears watching.

JM BETONSIX (NW1FM) tucked early, settled, brushed and crushed.

MYINSIDEVOICE (CLM17500) pulled to the half, rallied around the weak and proved second best in solid effort.

MARVIN HAGLER (NW1/2YO) left well, yielded for the pocket and was second best on the board and on the track to the odds-on favorite.

Friday, August 27

FOREFATHER (NW2) was used to the lead, yielded, got shuffled, brushed back to the lead and drew off in the lane posting an impressive win and will be hard to beat in next.

YARIS SEELSTER (CLM17500) pulled to the third panel, brushed and crushed.

SETTN A PRECEDENT (NW3FM) posted a wicked :26 last panel closing from the back of the pack and won going away.

IM NOT BAD (NW3800) sat to the rear, hit overdrive and flew home to be second best to the pacesetting favorite posting a :25 4/5 last panel in the process.

Saturday, August 28

CENTURY HEINEKEN (NW3) tucked, brushed and was a handy winner in quick time and can take another.

BEACHIN LINDY (NW5000) finished full of pace in last from far back and bears watching.

SO MUCH MORE (OPEN/FM) well-bet second choice was parked to the top, set a pressed pace and dug in gamely but could not stall the tripped-out pocket-sitting favorite.

HP NAPOLEAN (NW8700) trailed to the lane, rolled home quickest of all and should not be ignored.

Monday, August 30

MACHO PHIL (OntS) brushed to the half, took command, opened up but tired and was nailed by the late rush of the winner. Beaten favorite can atone if tighter in next.

RUBYS ARE NICE (OntSS) wired the field on a night when speed was getting nailed.

PIKACHU HANOVER (NW12000) rallied gamely uncovered but came up short. Beaten favorite can atone in next.

SHIP DISTURBER (OntS) went to the top, yielded, pulled the pocket in the final turn, rallied, took a lead but tired late. Should be tough to beat in next.

Tuesday, August 31

DEAL WITH LUCUS (NW1) broke at the start and took back to the rear, rallied to the third panel and finished full of trot to nail second place.

DEJA VU SEELSTER (NW2FM) was out quickly, yielded and was shuffled, pulled and brushed, put in a solid effort only to tire late. Beaten favorite can atone over a more speed favoring track.

KIIPPER WHIPR SNAPR (NW2) youngster was parked to the lead but was handy front-stepping winner once he got to the point.

MAINTENANCE MAN (CLMHCP13/18000) tucked early, pulled to the three-quarters and won going away. Got claimed and will come out ready again.
