Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from August 24 - August 28

Ken Walters|Aug 31, 2018

Friday, August 24

HELLO LOVE (NW3FM) beaten favorite got off slowly, raced third over, wheeled wide the third panel, rallied stoutly finishing full of pace but had much too far to come.

SHAKE A LEG (2YO) rushed to the top, yielded and got shuffled, rushed uncovered at 75-1, challenged and refused to go away holding to get in the picture. Slightly lesser company or a better trip might get him home.

ITS JUST TOO MUCH (NW7500) got buried, sat to the lane, tipped, closed fastest between horses and will do better in next.

GERARDO (NW3) beaten favorite was nowhere, followed a wide flow the final turn and closed a ton passing all but the pocket sitting winner.

Saturday, August 25

FINE DIAMOND (NW30000) closed very wide and game to get up for second at 19-1.

NOCTURNAL BLUECHIP (NW30000) had pace in heavy stretch traffic but cleared too late to give his best shot.

BACKSTREET SHADOW (NW3) was parked to the lead, won in handy fashion.

MONGOLIAN HERO (NW12600) sat pocket in the pouring rain and was an easy winner.

Monday, August 27

NEEDLECREST (CLMHCP12/15000) buried to the lane, angled out, slid clear finished full of pace and just missed. Got claimed and could come out ready to score.

SINGHAMPTON KENNY (CLMHCP8/10000) set a steady clip, wired the field. Got claimed and should be hard to beat in next.

STONEBRIDGE HALL (CLMHCP12/15000) won for fun on the front end. Gets claimed and will be looking for immediate returns.

DON MCWHITE (NW5000) tipped in the final turn, rolled wide and won going away in varaints busting romp.

Tuesday, August 28

EXEMPLAR (NW185000) left to the top, yielded and was shuffled, wormed his way through traffic but never found a path while closing willingly.

LISVINNIE (CLMHCP18/25000) wired the field and can take another.

FREE WILLY HANOVER (NW18500) finished fast from the back of the pack and earns a long look in next race or two.

PASSIONATE PRINCE (OntS) yielded, retook, rated the middle and powered home.
