Woodbine Mohawk Park: Horses to watch from April 25 - April 29
Thursday, April 25
L WEATHER B (CLMHCP15/18000) was parked the mile, challenged the pace all the way and proved second best in game effort.
B STONEY (NW2) closed well from a distant 4th over and could be luckier in next race or two.
MAGICAL WINNER (NW2) had it won in front-end effort but broke at the wire. Beaten favorite will give it another try soon.
SILVER BEAST (NW18500) went down the road as the well-bet second choice and was unable to hold off the pocket-sitting favorite in the last steps.
Friday, April 26
ROYALTYWESTHO (NW7000FM) tucked early, tipped and angled out into the lane, finished strong but just missed.
ROLL WITH SPARKY (NW7000FM) sat to the rear, followed cover in the final turn and closed too late.
DOUBLE A MINT (PRFFM) wired the field for 6th straight win and should be tough to overhaul once more.
SMOKE MONKEY (NW3000) took the top, yielded, got shuffled, rallied strongest and straightest to win going away.
PROTECT BLUE CHIP (CLMHCP8/10000FM) trailed to the lane, came wide and passed all but the winner and bears watching.
Saturday, April 27
UPTOWN FUNK (NW6) rushed home fast from 4th over and nearly got there at 12-1.
NOTETOSELF HANOVER (NW3000) rallied stoutly through the lane at 33-1 to be second best to the odds-on favorite.
GO WEST GO FAST (NW17000) tucked, angled out in the lane finishing quickly to win going away and can take another.
ACTING OUT (NW7500) was parked a long way to the lead, set the pace under duress and tired to finish second at 11-1 and will be tough with better racing luck.
Monday, April 29
ALPHA SEELSTER (NW5) pulled and brushed strongly, opened up a lot of daylight, looked unbeatable till mid lane and tired. Same move wins most times.
STONEBRIDGE SURF (NW1) yielded, retook and set a pressed pace drawing away in the lane in seasonal debut.
CROCADILE CANYON (CLMHCP12/15000) brushed to the lead to the third panel, got away and won by open lenghths. Got claimed again and should stay in the thick of things a while longer.
PRINCE GIOVANNI (CLMHCP18/25000) rushed to the top, yielded and got shuffled, had stretch traffic, cleared inside but the winner already had a jump on him.
